Doesn't show up well in the pics but I noticed this morning that EmmyLou has a cute blue spot in her right eye. Lainey also has a tiny blue spot but you have to look really close to see it. Also noticed that Lainey has rear dewclaws, EmmyLou and Kacey do not. All three are settling in nicely and are very sweet and friendly.

I wasn't ready to tell this story right away, but now that it has a happy ending I feel like I need to share. Think what you want, but I believe there is power in the universe that we can never understand.

My beautiful mama dog Oreo left Friday to go to a couple in North Carolina. I had a long conversation with them about her trust issues, uneasiness around men, and the fact that it would take some time to win her over, but once they got her trust she would love 110%. They seemed ready and eager to take on the challenge. However, once they got her home, they made the mistake of turning her loose in their fenced yard. Then, of course, she would not come to them because she didn't know them. They assumed she was 'safe' in the yard so they left her alone. She promptly dug a hole under the fence and ran away. They enlisted the help of their whole golf club community and throughout Saturday she was spotted multiple times in the neighborhood but, of course, no one could get near her. She was even seen on the golf course, sitting on the green watching people play golf! On Sunday they put out 3 traps, realizing that trapping her was going to be the only way to get her. Two traps were in areas where she had been seen. The 3rd trap was placed on their porch with her harness and the blanket she had laid on in their car, and they left the yard gate open. I was absolutely wrecked thinking about her out there alone and confused, and feeling like I had abandoned her and let her down just like every other human in her life. So Sunday night and again last night I sat quietly and spoke to the universe. I tried to focus my energy on her. I told her these were her people and she should trust them. I told her over and over that she needed to go home and everything would be OK. I told her she was going to have a great life, filled with love, if she would just GO HOME. This morning when they woke up, she was sound asleep in the trap on their porch.
