--Update Monday evening 6/16: Aura has been claimed and will be joining her forever family tomorrow. ❤️ Ubell is still waiting to see when her family will find her.--
--Update Wednesday morning 6/18: Ubel's adoption is pending.

It's a family reunion special! Meaning we are leaving for a family reunion and would love to have these last two precious girls in their forever homes. The home is more important than the price, although this litter helps to support a college student's expenses.

Aura and Ubell would love to tell you what they're looking for in a new home.

Both of them have experience inside with training. They're doing great! Talk to us about them and find out why one of them might be just right for you.

The thing about "complete and balanced" is...

It sounds reassuring, but it's hollow.

Like any label or "catch phrase" used, you have to dig deeper to have a clue what's really in it.

So it *sounds* good, but...

What if I told you that a few scrap ingredients could technically be called "complete and balanced"?

Here's what most pet parents don't know:
Those four little words are based on minimums. The bare minimum to keep your pet alive.

(Read the label - there are literal minimum amounts listed)

Not thriving. Not optimal. Just... surviving.

It's like building a house to code versus building a house to last generations.
Both are "legal" - but which would you choose for your family?

Simple truth: Your pet deserves better than minimum standards.

This is why we use the food we use for our dogs.

Learning about petfood recalls changed everything for me...

It was 2013, and as the veterinarian at the front of my class continued teaching us about nutrition, moving on as if he hadn't just dropped a metaphorical gr***de.

It may be vitamin D overdose (pets get most of theirs from the sun)...

Mold toxin overload (corn and mold are besties)...

Salmonella and Listeria (yes, even in processed foods)...

Pesticides, heavy metals, melamine - oh my!

And the real kicker is: Most people find out about a recall too late, or not at all.
The companies and stores have *still* not taken steps to be able to contact their customer base directly.
(What would they even say? "Hey, we've goofed up again, hope your pet doesn't die from it! Oh, and we won't be footing any bills.")

And "premium" gets plenty of recalls (including prescription diets).

That's when I started asking the hard questions:
Who actually makes this food? What do all these terms on the labels mean? What quality control exists?

Four girls are the last ones available! One is a light brown merle; I've never seen any other color like hers. Two are red puppies and one is apricot. They're all fun and snuggly with great personalities.

Sweet Macchiato gave us 8 puppies during the night!

𝙏𝑯𝙀𝒀 𝑨𝙍𝑬 𝑨𝘽𝑺𝙊𝑳𝙐𝑻𝙀𝑳𝙔 𝙂𝑶𝙍𝑮𝙀𝑶𝙐𝑺!!

And they will be as sweet, quirky and companionable as Macchi and Bean are in our home.

Only a week and a half away from beautiful newborn puppy pictures!!!

These pups will be a variety of brown or black parti, brown or black merle, and some solid brown or black puppies.

Macchiato is showing her litter! You can see her starting to fill out. These last three weeks she will grow like crazy! Pictures are taken one week apart.

Adding a third picture 4 days later. She'll fill out like a balloon now.

Wednesday is the magic day that we confirm Macchiato's pregnancy with an ultrasound. 🥳 We're excited to see her first litter in late February! You can tell how pleased she is. 🤣

Update Wednesday morning: We just came back from the vet, and Sweet Macchiato has puppies! We don't know how many yet, could be anywhere from 4 to 8, but we're excited for every last puppy that shows up.
