Meet Peanut! This sweet girl was found huddled up outside in the coldest part of January. She was very skeptical of humans at first but has quickly come around! Peanut was given the name "peanut" because of her petite physique. Some veterinary staff mentioned that she seemed like a "munchkin" because of her small stature. But, this tiny girl has a big personality and lots of love to give:) Peanut loves playing with her toys, giving snuggles, and napping the day away! We would like to thank everyone that supported our annual Tree of Lights fundraiser. We raised over $800 to help the dogs at the Southampton County Animal Shelter. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Please help us light our 24th annual Tree of Lights supporting
animal welfare. For each $5- donation we will turn a light white and for each $25- donation we will turn a light blue, in memory or honor of a special animal or person that has touched your life. The tree will be set up on the patio at Fred’s Restaurant.
Please join us Friday December 20th at 6:30p.m. for the illumination ceremony. During the ceremony we will announce each person or animal honored or remembered and light the tree!

Drumroll Please!!!! We are excited to announce that Star (now Ruth) has found her forever home! She is living it up and has a big sister named Lucy. We cannot believe how long this perfect girl was in foster care.

We are stumped! Star is an amazing pup but has no interest. She is sweet, smart, adorable, snuggly, and at the perfect age to begin bonding and training with her forever family. We just need to find that family! Star is patiently awaiting applications to come in so she can move on to some lucky family. Please share Star and help find her a home.

We told her not to give up home and that we will keep working until she gets the life she deserves. Star says it is exhausting!!!

We busted Star out of the Southampton County Animal Shelter. She is now vetted and ready for adoption! Star is a sweet 6 month old mix breed that did not have the best start in life. She landed in a rural shelter and had no idea who to trust. Luckily, the right person saw her at the right time and decided to pull her from the shelter and let this little girl decompress and learn about the luxuries of indoor living while she awaits her forever home. Star is spayed, vaccinated, on heartworm preventative, microchipped, and on flea/tick prevention. UPDATE: ADOPTED

Little Man is a 7 year old miniature pinscher. He is a loyal companion and bonds quickly with "his" people. Little Man is in need of a new home because his mom is getting older and experiencing health issues that prevent her from giving Little Man the attention he needs. Little Man is an active boy and would love a family that wants a pup that can play hard and snuggle harder! He loves children and does not mind cats. He is a bit stand offish with other dogs but we think he will do fine with a proper meet and greet. He is very protective of his home and is a typical "barky" min pin but those who love the breed love their quirks! Little Man is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.

What is better than one kitten? Well, two kittens silly!!! Kit Kat and Shiloh are a bonded pair and would love to be adopted together! If they cannot go together then we are requiring a young playful kitten be in the adoptive home. Adoption fee is $50 but you can get both for $75 if they get to be ying and yang forever!

Both kittens are around 9 weeks of age are are fully vetted.

UPDATE: ADOPTED

We are going to try one more time to find this boy's home. This sweet male hound was found near Newsoms Hunt Club but he is not a hunting dog. He has been reported to animal control. This dog, whom we are calling Max, loves being in the house and has perfect manners. He is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, gets along with other dogs, cats, kids, and adults. He really is perfect so someone must be missing him. He had no microchip and was wearing a harness with no tags. Our best guess is that he is around 2 years old. He has now been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative. He is not at the shelter because there is no room and his finder is able to hold onto him until we can find rescue or an adoptive home for this boy. Please message us if you know his owner or want to adopt Max. We are asking that interested adopters fill out an online adoption application. His adoption fee is $100. He has now been fully vetted and will come with a leash and collar. Here is the link:
