working on trailer loading. has been in multiple times still not a fan. but small.progress was made
Today we had an 1 1/2 trail ride and Emma said the cooler weather was very nice and no bugs!!! Then we were visited by one of our boarders she had a nice trail ride with her horse today. Then Emma and I loaded up 2 horses to put some miles on the horse we are training. We went to Governor Knowles state equine Park on Evergreen. Out by Cushing WI. Beautiful out there. She did great today and learned some new things. Video is of 1st time leading into the river. I had to lead the first time across so couls not get a video but with some encouragement she made it. Unsure if she has ever been in water before but she has now and did a great job.
This morning we had a concert during our trail ride. We had a bother and sister duo sing some songs for us on our 2 hr trail ride this morning. We also had a group of 7 women on this trail ride who enjoyed having the young siblings join them for the ride. Most of these women have not rode in years but they did a fabulous job and we hope tonsee them again. Enjoy the sweet sounds of Matt and Michelle. I might have to hire them to do some singing trail rides in the future. We had a blast this morning.
Horse camp kiddos coming back from their trial ride.
This young man is volunteering at the stable this week He says he wants to learn more about county living, horses, and farming so we gave him the post pounder and some posts. After they were in he said it was fun! Lol. Today he worked on the discussion bine.
Horse camp kids learning to fall off horses in a safe manner. Goal is to make it so they can balance and stay on but if something happens I hope they tuck and roll and don't stick out their hands. Luther Park Bible Camp - Danbury, WI Luther Point Bible Camp
Today we hosted Dr. Brian Gray D.C. to teach us about the importance of getting our horses adjusted and why. We learned horses have 7 bones in their neck. We learned that their CI joint goes out by stomping at flies and sometimes our horses can put it back by simply rolling in the pasture. Other times someone like Dr. Bryan needs to be called to help out. Today he adjusted 6 of our horse friends and I hope we will see them doing better out on the trails and in the arena. Thanks for sharing you knowledge and see you in Aug for their next adjustments!
Many activities of lesson day. While our new rider is learning how clips on the lead rope work Hannah is waiting to back out of her stall. She knows what's next. We also have a rider who is learning poles so she can run in the county fair next month. And of course rolling out hay for the horses to have something extra to snack on after lesson today. Always something happening!
Lots of big things happening today at the stables! Mama had her kittens, worked on training Atlas, and a beginner rider working turns and obstacles!
