Hello! My name is Kara and I live with my family in Frederick, Colorado. I've been married to my husband for 8 years and we have four kids, both fuzzy and human.
From oldest to youngest -
Sienna Mae was a rescue from PetSmart and is 10 years old. She has been a part of our family since she was about one year old. Sienna is the "head of the household", just as most cats are, and she has my husband wrapped around her little claw.
Sampson Theodore is a German Shepherd and will be 8 years old in December. Sammy is a super sweet mush once you've been accepted into his pack. He loves to play, is best buddies with our son, and enjoys car rides and family gatherings whenever he can be included in the fun!
Our son, is in first grade this year and loves art, reading, and bug hunting. He loves to play with his fuzzy brother and sisters, and craves any time he can spend with family or his friends.
Delta Joy is our youngest, and also a rescue. Her mother was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas and Delta and her litter were born and fostered in Central City, Colorado. She is a true Rocky Mountain Mutt! Delta is cautious and shy, but loves us well and has been the perfect addition to our family. She will be 2 in October.
When I was in middle school, my sister and I pet sat for neighbors and friends in our neighborhood, and this turned into a temporary "business" when we first moved to Colorado. We lived in a long-term stay hotel for 6 months and with the permission of the hotel managers, we offered dog walking and pet sitting services to business people, or families who had their fur babies with them at the hotel while they were working or away for weekend. This continued into our college years, in our neighborhood after leaving the hotel.
In May of this year, the non-profit organization I worked for started the process of dissolving and I began job searching. We depend on my income, and as part of my job search, I am venturing out to find ways to work closer to home, be more in control of my schedule to be around for our son in case of an emergency. With gas prices and traffic driving to Denver for the types of jobs I can apply for is not ideal since my husband is a corrections officer and it is tough for him to leave his job in the middle of the day. I am still job searching but would stop my search in a heartbeat if I can work in my community by doing something like this.
I love my family, and I adore my fur babies! It would be an honor to share this love with your family, and bring a sense of calm and companionship to your household, whether you are away for the day or an extended period of time.
I look forward to building trust with and being welcomed into your home by your entire family, fuzzy or not!
Blessings,
Kara Hollister
