Something last night pulled me to this horse.

I knew deep down she wasnt happy, healthy and loved. She looked sad and deflated. I went back to her 3 times, checked all 4 feet and legs. Put my hands in her mouth (and yes I do believe she is early teens.) And looked at her eyes. It wasnt until the 3rd visit I got to see her without a saddle and her top line was trash and she was ribby. So going off that I put a plan together, got a budget from Gaited Advocate Intervention Team, Inc. 501c3 and went home.
I watch the whole auction live and hung out with my family. When she came up... no one wanted her.. She dropped to $500 and I jumped. Another person bid me to $1200 and I was going to stop... But I was like one more, we can fundraise. That did it I got her for $1300. After sales fees, taxes and coggins she was almost $1600.... I felt bad for going over budget. But I was happy she was safe.

Later that night I saw a comment on a GAIT post that someone thought they had seen this horse at the RSD auction in the fall. So I said... let me look... I found her ad... I found her being auctioned off in OCT!!!

That was what it took for me to know that we did 100% the right thing. I didnt take this horse from a kid, a family, or even a money troubled riding barn. I pulled this horse from a dealer taking her from auction to auction. This horse was in a vicious circle that would have pull her health and mind down with every movement.

I am 100% glad I did what I did. My guy told me to jump! If anyone can throw some financial aid this girl is gonna cost GAIT right around $2500 to get her even close to adoptable.

$1531.80 total to get her from Auction
Around $550 for vaccines, wormer, farrier, and floating of her teeth. (The possibility of bloodwork pending what vet has to say)
Around $300 for us to get good nutrition and weight back on her, some premium hay (Alfalfa) for the 1st month and Purina Ultium.

I am donating my time and my place to quarantine her to keep those expensives on GAIT low. But I'd love to help raise the rest of the funds for GAIT for her.

Meet Major. This sweet boy is an auction pull.
His mom sought us out to help him with his pain and neuro issues. As you can see in the picture below of him in the pemf equipment, he is very hesitant to trust people. We are working hard on giving him some physical and mental TLC and to show him he's now safe and will never be treated badly again.

Pretty Willow, the team's newest client. Dani just about fell head over heels for this beautiful BIG girl.

Willow is a 4 year old ottb who came off the track fairly recently. We were called out to do a full bodywork session to help willow relax and de-stress.

Willow's mom is giving her what every fresh off the track tb needs- time! We recommend that every fresh off the track horse have at least 6-12 months of let down time before really starting to retrain into their new career.
We will be continuing bodywork and Pemf treatments to better help Willow in her journey to becoming an amazing riding partner.

Dani and Jamie were able to help out Jimmy at expo! Jimmy is a GAIT Inc alumni and had what was believed to be a pinched nerve in his neck. He received a 20 min PEMF treatment and a 45 min bodywork session with Dani and to top of off a quick 5 min stretch session with Jamie. Starry Night's Bodywork team was able to give Jimmy some pretty instant relief. After our session, he was able to lower his head to about a foot from the ground, which at the start he wasn't able to go past his chest. The next morning it was reported he was able to almost reach the ground. We were so happy to be able to support our GAIT family and at such an amazing event too!

Today's session found us helping a 28 year old GAIT graduate, Salvo. He thoroughly enjoyed a pemf treatment and an extended bodywork session.

Salvo suffers from EPM, arthritic changes, and weight loss.
With a senior horse, it's not always about solving the problem, but helping them feel their absolute best through their golden years.

We then helped guide his owner toward a higher calorie food, so he can get more calories per meal with less feed.
Salvo's bodywork session started with a Pemf treatment to ease aches and pains of arthritis, then switched gears to trigger point therapy, myofascial release, a soothing full body massage, and assisted stretching.

Starry Night's Bodywork Team will continue to visit Salvo to keep him as happy as possible through his senior years.
