Our mission is to work with members of the community to reduce the number of feral cats and find homes for friendly cats and kittens determined to be adoptable. We focus on getting adoptable kittens and adult cats off the street. Professional and humane trapping equipment is used and we ensure proper medical care, arrange spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations and microchipping prior to sending

💕🏠 Ninja and Maui, two sweet brothers, have been adopted together on 7/26/2024! The adopters initially came to meet Ninja but they also fell in love with his brother Maui and decided to adopt them both. Ninja, who is usually a bit shy, surprised us all by snuggling with his new big human sister on Day 1! We’re soooooo happy for these two brothers and their new family! 🏠💕

Leina, our little bottle baby, was rescued at just a few days old with her umbilical cord still attached. Jackie was brought to us by a kind lady from Oakland. Both of these sweethearts have been incredibly friendly and loving from the start. It's been such a rewarding and heartwarming journey to raise them and now see them finding their very own forever family. 🐾🐾

😻😻 We're super excited to share that Cheeto and Dorito have found their forever home together on 7/1/2024! These two were rescued separately but quickly became best friends. Cheeto, our bottle baby, is a cuddle bug, while Dorito, who was found alone by train tracks, has turned into a total sweetheart. They're both playful and full of love. We're so happy these two inseparable buddies get to continue their adventure together! 😻😻

💜 Beyond the smiling photos and success stories on social media, there's a reality filled with tears, heartache, and sleepless nights for us rescue volunteers. Juggling these emotions alongside our daily lives, social obligations, and careers is a challenge. It's the kindness we encounter along the way that keeps us going, reminding us why we do what we do. 💜
I've been doing cat rescue for over 10 years. Rescue work is HARD and I don't say that lightly. Despite the social media posts and reels of happy adoptions and cute kittens, rescue behind the scenes is a very different story. This is just a glimpse of things YOU will probably never see or experience:
- You will never experience the moment a kitten is gasping for their last breaths while you’re scrambling to pull Euthasol to help end their suffering. You don't have time to cry, get frantic, or lose your sh*t.
- You will never know what it's like to be at the emergency vet all night only to have your kitten die, wake up 3 hours later and be forced to function because there are many other lives counting on you. There's no time to cry or grieve properly.
- You will never have to make difficult decisions whether to spend thousands of dollars on one cat for a complicated surgery or to opt for euthanasia. Question “do I try to socialize these semi feral kittens to give them a chance at an adoptable indoor life or save the space for future 5-10 friendlies? Or do I take in this medical kitten who will be euthanized at the shelter?” You have to make these hard decisions every day.
- You will never have to wake up every 2 hours to bottle feed newborn kittens because someone decided to “rescue” them and brought them to you while mama cat was out trying to get food. Basically kidnapping them…But hey, they feel good because they “rescued them” and left you to do all the hard work, pay their medical bills, and spend every weekend at adoption events making sure they go to good homes.
- You will never see the cruel side of humanity where you witness animal abuse, kittens being thrown out of cars, cats taped up in boxes and dumped in the garbage, find half dead kittens in a shoe box left on the conveyor belt at your adoption pet store….and you are still expected to be a kind, polite, and a happy, normal human being.
- You will probably never have to give up your high paying corporate job because working a normal 8+ hour day and then coming home to do rescue “work” for another 8-10 hours is just not sustainable or healthy for anybody.
- You will never know what it's like to give up every weekend to “work” adoption fairs, miss family events, miss out on friendships and relationships, or have a social life. You'll never know what it feels like to sacrifice so much, give SO much, and feel SO underappreciated.
But I know all these things because this is what it's like to run a rescue.
People will say “why don't you have more cats for adoption?” or give an attitude because they weren't the selected adopter for the kitten of their choosing. People demand that I help them because “you're a rescue” and that I “should come to their house and remove these cats” or ask “why can't you help me with these kittens?” because I'm tired. I have limits. I am one person. That's what the Tri city shelter is for - but they will turn you away because even with staff and resources, they can't do it all.
If you are adopting from a rescue, if you're asking for rescue help, just read some of these things and please be kind. We are really doing our best. If you know a person in rescue, buy them a coffee, a snack, a drink- they most likely haven't eaten anything all day. Appreciate them in a way that will make their day a little bit easier. Everyday is a difficult day for us in rescue but kindness goes a long way. Like I said…rescue work is hard. Most people don't know or understand - but now you know… even if it's just a glimpse.

🐈⬛🐼 Night and Panda were left behind at a community park when they were only 3 months old, starving and approaching strangers for food. A kind family reached out to us for help. Once we took them in, we realized they were covered in ringworm and were both terribly underweight. It was heart-wrenching. After 5 months in our foster program, they blossomed back to health and found a loving family to call their own on Feb 25, 2024. 🐼🐈⬛

🐾 🐱 Our beautiful girl Maze found her forever home on Jan 29, 2024 and now has a little sister, Mango! They're getting along so well, enjoying rainy days and sunny rays together. After spending 6 months in our foster program, we're thrilled she's found her own loving family. 🐱 🐾

Arlo, our handsome sweetheart, went home with his mommy and daddy on Feb. 06,2024!
Arlo was one of the kittens got returned by the shelter because of his shyness to the public. And sadly he was even on the list to be released back to the wild.
Fortunately, our foster mom decided to give him another chance. It turned out Arlo was one of the most cuddly boy in our foster program.
Now he has a wonderful family and a full set of bedding on his own. Well…. Not exactly the true, he actually shares the bed with his new parents and his doggie sister, Lora every night.
Arlo, we are so happy for you and thank you for giving us this touching and inspiring story that we are gonna share with all of our friends!

💕🎉 Pippin ( the tabby boy) and Hilma ( the Siamese girl)went to their new home right before the Christmas with their new parents and brothers!
These besties were from different litters and got rescued in separate locations. In fact, the stories behind their rescues might bring you into tears…
Pippin was found limping and roaming around the neighborhood all by himself in Fremont. He was in bad shape and limping when the rescuer found him. He constantly had diarrhea for weeks in foster home and there was not an effective treatment for him. We were so afraid that we might lose him. Luckily, with 24/7 medical attention from our team, Pippin started to put weight on his body. And guess what? He turned out to be a muscle man who loves jumping and fetching cat teasers.
Hilma and her siblings were rescued from the wild where there were coyotes and snakes around. She was the tiniest one from the litter and looked so bony and fragile. But she made her way through the darkness with foster mom’s love and support, she became an affectionate and cuddly kitten!
Pippin and Hilma were best friends in the foster home and happily, they got adopted as a pair by a loving family. Their daily routine now is to fight for best seat on dad’s lap and get the remote control.
What a wonderful life! 🎉💕

🐈⬛ Zuri came to us on 7/5/23 as a "feral" kitten. He was so nervous and scared, but never was aggressive. With a lot of patience and TLC, he quickly became a very loving gentleman. #RescueStory Rocky is recovering nicely 💝 - Look at the difference in just one month!
#RescueStory We rescued this “kitten” from the Newark Softball fields area. He was limping and turned out to have a very bad open abscess wound oozing pus. He was taken into an emergency vet hospital on 3/18/2022 where he was treated under sedation. His wound was cleaned, necrotic tissue removed and a long lasting antibiotic Convenia injection was given. The kitten made it through the surgery and is now recovering in our home in a warm and safe space. He is eating and drinking like a champion and taking his pain medication. We named him Rocky! The cost of the medical treatment was $475. The recovery will likely take one month. We are attempting to raise $650 in order to cover expenses such as food, litter, further treatment and transport costs. The excess amount raised, if any, will benefit other rescue cats that Woody is helping.
