Spaying/Neutering pets has many benefits, from health benefits to behavioral benefits, even financial and community benefits. By sponsoring the cost of spaying/neutering a dog at the shelter, not only will you be helping ensure the dog's health, you'll also be making it easier for the dog to get adopted or rescued. Additionally, by sponsoring the spay/neuter fee of shelter dogs, you will also be helping to stop the overpopulation crisis of homeless pets!

When you sponsor the cost of the spay/neuter of a shelter dog, any rescue that is interested in pulling that dog will no longer have to pay hundreds of dollars to spay/neuter the dog and can focus on other aspects of caring for the dog (such as any other medical care or behavioral care that the dog needs).

We are raising funds to sponsor the spay/neuter fee of the dogs at the Corona Animal Shelter, a small shelter in Corona, CA in Riverside County that is currently at FULL capacity. If you cannot adopt from them or foster at the moment, please consider helping by donating to our fundraiser.

Sky, a female Belgian Malinois at , just recently gave birth to puppies! I saw her when I was at the shelter around Xmas but also had no idea she was pregnant. Mama and puppies URGENTLY need a foster or rescue!! Please contact the shelter if you can foster or rescue! It is crucial for puppies this young to stay with Mama for feeding, potty and socialization purposes. See details below.

Posted • Sometimes we walk into the shelter to some unexpected surprises. Well, on Friday there were EIGHT unexpected surprises. We don’t know how this mama mal managed to have 8 pups without a lick of indication she was pregnant, but she did. So you know what this means.. we need a FOSTER or RESCUE ASAP.
Our shelter is mainly outdoors. With the cold weather and the shelter literally overflowing with dogs this mama and her babies need to get outta here! Interested in fostering for us? My husband and I went to the Corona Animal Shelter before hearing back to the Bay Area, to visit the 68 doggies & 14 cats that are waiting for a home there and donated 15lb of dog treats, some cat treats and a carrot for their 1 turtle. I took a video of every single dog and cat there, which will be posted in the coming days and weeks on this account, our TikTok account and YouTube channel, in hope that we can help them find a home or rescue.

We will also be doing a fundraising campaign for them. Stay tuned!

UPDATE ON ALLIE- Allie’s owner contacted me in early Dec s asking for help rehoming the dog by end of the month. The reason for rehoming her kept changing. We decided to help anyway and sprung into action, posting about the dog on here, tiktok, NextDoor- we even got a FEW more people involved. We also did TWO meet & greets with the dog (and other dogs) to confirm her temperament.

After 3 weeks of working on this case, we finally got a foster AND a rescue that was willing to take in the dog and a backup foster & rescue. We arranged for the owner to meet our volunteer and the foster to transfer the dog yesterday, with a surrender agreement from the rescue that they were supposed to signed. THEY DID NOT SHOW UP- also did not give a heads up that they were not going to show up. This morning they informed us that they had changed their minds and decided to keep Allie.

Although this seems like good news, and we really hope they take good care of Allie, the disregard to our time and efforts trying to help this dog is disappointing. Those of us who did anything to help rehome Allie are all volunteers. The time and efforts we spent trying to find the dog at a new home at the owner’s request, could’ve been spent helping a shelter dog that truly needs a home. Unfortunately this is not the first time that something like this has happened, so we have learned our lesson.

Again, we really hope that they take good care of Alli.

❤️Adopter’s Pupdate❤️ Over 2 years ago, Bobby was abandoned at a boarding facility in Central Valley. The facility’s owner was kind enough to keep him, rather than turning him to the county shelter where he would’ve been at risk for euthanasia due to overcrowding. About a year ago, a couple volunteers at the facility reached out to us to see if we could help Bobby find a home. Earlier this year we found him a foster and then about a month after that we found him a FUR-Ever home with a retired San Jose policeman who had moved to Washington! It has been a few months since he was adopted, and he is still doing so well! We have both 👍 news and 👎 news on Linus this week. The 👍 news is that he continues to work on his fear and anxiety that he is now brave enough to go to the living room and jumped onto the couch to sit next to his foster mama! He is also now following her around the house- this is another big progress! The 👎 is that his fosters found worms in his 💩 so they’ll have to take a sample to the vet to get it tested to see what kind of worms they are so he can be treated accordingly. On the occasion of today (Aug 20) being International Homeless Animals Day, we’d like to raise awareness that the overpopulation of homeless companion pets (dogs & cats) is a worldwide issue, not just a US issue. As BARK Rescue is a US-based organization, in this post we focus on the US side of things. In countries where animal shelters are rare and the animal rights or animal welfare movement is rare or non-existent, the overpopulation of homeless pets lead to an overwhelming population of stray dogs & cats.
