It’s amazing what 1 week of good food and hay and a little love can do for an old throw away.
Meet Rosie she is a throw away because she is showing her age and the wear and tear has really done a number on her, used at a Christian camp yes a CHRISTIAN CAMP worked hard in the summer then throw in a pasture to wait till summer camps start up again. She is by far the most humble horse I’ve ever met and sweet as can be I can only imagine what type a horse she was.
Rosie has some really bad calcium deposits on her knees and has been over compensating to just keep herself steady but wanted to give a big thanks to Manning the Pulse LLC who came out to make her ride home more comfortable Rosie is moving around so much better this morning and more relaxed!
So excited to get this unicorn to her new family I know she’s gonna love y’all so much!

This is whinny she’s in her 20s and has been with us since February this year these photos are proof that good vet care dental care and proper nutrition are all possible!
This was pure neglect, she needed her teeth floated and was over grown to the point she was cutting into her gums which caused a nasty infection. But she’s doing so much better and has come a long way also she’s been adopted out by one of our lesson students and is boarding with us, it is such a Blessing to be able to see the love and progress she gets and has made❤️

Rainbow Lucks has finally got some more weight on him, he is thriving his patience has gotten so much better as well! Now stands fairly well at the trailer with very little pawing and rides like a dream, still a little pushy at feeding time but nothing like he was when he first came here, he knows he won’t ever go hungry again! ❤️🐴🌈🍀

⁉️They get 2 weeks typically to find homes before the Kill Buyer can ship them to slaughter. Please look under their post for the evaluation sheet for all the info we have on them and bail amount. We also posted the invoice link. As soon as we can we will upload the video and post that link in comments as well. Please have patience as this can take a couple days due to time constraints and YouTube daily limits. The first 24 hours we do not accept half bail holds. After the horse has been listed for 24 hours you’re welcome to put down half bail and the horse will be HELD for you for up to 7 days and you are welcome to work on your own fundraising efforts if you need. For legal reasons, we as a team only help 501c3 rescues in those efforts.

🦷We get a lot of questions in regards to AGE. If they aren’t registered we don’t know an age so please refer to the teeth pics we provided. For your convenience we also provide teeth aging charts but even vets will have a variety of different opinions on ages. There’s just no exact science. Only educated guesses. So we prefer not to offer insight on our opinion for ages to not upset anyone if ours is not the same as your vet.

🩺Quarantine: Second Chance Stables is run by our main volunteer and she offers outstanding layover and QT services. We appreciate it if you need help with quarantine that you use them. The volunteers on this page don’t get paid to do all of this work so this is a way you can give back for their efforts & countless hours spent networking for these horses.

🛣Transport: We do have 2 volunteers who offer transport services as well. Dru (919)817-5491 for the close local hauls & out of state hauls & Logan for in state & out of state hauls (252) 567-4977. Though you aren’t required to use them, it’s just another way to help them continue to dedicate their time to helping the horses at this kill pen. There is also a list of haulers our clients have used and been happy with if you are needing more options but you’re welcome to hire who you want as long as they can adhere to a pick up appointment and understand these horses are coming directly out of a kill pen.

👍YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO DO YOUR OWN PICK UP AND QT. Our ultimate goal is to just get them out of the slaughter pipeline.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

🏁Anyone can donate towards any of the invoices! This can make a life or death difference especially for the ones that are more of a challenge to find homes for.

🏁Anyone can bail them out. We don’t ban anyone from this page unless they are discouraging people from saving slaughter bound horses or slandering. If you have the money to save one but not the home we have plenty of approved homes and rescues for them to go to. If you need the write off we do have nonprofits who can take them as a donation as well.

Hauled these 2 lovely gals this morning both a little nervy getting in the trailer but had positive encouragement and loaded great!
The ride was great and having happy owners and horses was the goal and it was met!

Say hello to tag 93 aka sporty yesterday he rode the freedom ride home the look in his eyes when he saw the grass was almost heart breaking he knew his life was gonna be different and now full of love I’m so happy I got to witness this part ❤️

We had another good haul, brought some of Bridget Roys babies to her then we got stuck in the mudd and my fuse for my 4wd was blown 🙃 thankfully good friends of friends were able to come to our rescue and had a fuse we could use! 😄

We have some beautiful horses in this beautiful snow but we are definitely ready for it to melt and go away so we can get back to growing our pastures and working on our arena for our drills and everyone is enjoying the extra hay and treats
