Another little break in my heart. Losing client pets is hard. Goethe was a girl that preferred the periphery. She’d play when in the mood and really hated to be brushed. But she’d come running for food. This lil lady will be missed. Rest in Peace Goethe.

Eddie (aka Eddie Vedder, Fat Eddie, “FE”…since when he came to rescue, he was close to 21 pounds). This boy was part of a rescue bonded duo (about 40 pounds of loving cats) that came into Animal Aid from MCAS. Luckily they were adopted by someone who became a good friend of mine and then a client.

This cat (and brother and his stupendous mom) spread so much joy in his lifetime. Literally there are at least many thousands of stickers with his image and a brief inspirational phrase all over the world. My heart is broken that he is gone. I’m sure he’s back with his brother Lou. (Ludwig Van Beethoven) Eddie & Lou, together in Heaven. Rest in Peace.

Eddie. Rest in Peace and snuggles with Lou. 💔

Next time a Girl Scout or Boy Scout offers to do a project to support your organization, show them how Girl Scout Troop 1255 from Brentwood, Tennessee, installed two public microchip scanner stations in their community!

Troop 1255 used their Girl Scout Cookie money to put together and install one scanner station at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library and another outside of the Williamson County Animal Center. Inside the box, they placed instructions for how to use the scanner and the information, and a sign-in sheet so they could track community use of the scanner station. They even made a website for their program: https://www.whosepaws.com.whosepaws.org/home

Lucifer. “Luci” for short. She was a tough girl that’s for sure. I’m saddened by her recent passing. I’m glad we were able to connect and she didn’t feel too threatened by me. I could pet her with time and we always enjoyed a game of feather. My condolences to her family.

Luci. I’m sorry to learn that she has passed. Condolences to her family. Rest in peace.

The 4th of July fireworks can be incredibly stressful for our animal family members. Here are some tips to help your cats (and dogs) stay safe and calm during the celebrations.

01/07/2024

If you didn’t know, every year I take care of dozens of dogs on the 4th of July holiday.

Inevitably, a few of those dogs will come to me with extreme phobias around fireworks.

And if you haven’t seen my past posts, fireworks in these parts are a pretty big deal. My next door neighbor’s house has resembled a war zone in past years, and it’s not uncommon for me to have a 360 degree view of fireworks as they surround me when I’m at our facility.

But every year, the dogs are relaxed…

And we’re often able to reverse phobias and create neutral dogs around fireworks pretty darn quickly.

Because SO many people asked me for help leading up to the 4th of July holiday here in the states…

I decided to do a very informal live chat on the topic.

I’ll share with you how we:

(1) Manage dogs and create safe zones so even scared dogs aren’t stressed out
(2) Change how dogs feel about fireworks so they go from cowering, shaking and drooling to being able to be outside with us enjoying the holiday

I’ve taken several dogs with extreme phobias…

Dogs that previously have been heavily medicated on the holiday…

To being totally fine outside while fireworks are going off right next door.

If you want to hear the stories of how I did it, join us live Monday July 1st at 11am Pacific.

It’s free…

I’m not selling anything…

It will be informal - nothing fancy (although be prepared, I’m not known for brevity)

I just want to share this stuff with those that can benefit so these types of holidays don’t have to be so stressful anymore…

And it’s just too much info to cram into an Instagram or Facebook post.

And for those who asked, I’ll do my best to record it and post it for those of you unable to make it live, but no guarantees technology will cooperate with me (if it doesn’t, it will be user error but me and technology are often not friends).

Here's the link to join the live chat July 1st at 11am Pacific https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82864303503
