Awesome job guys! Comparing the May mow list to April's, we have cut our numbers down in more than half, and gotten every street into single digits, and zero on some. I am going to have to mail letters on Nara Visa as a lot of the properties all belong to the same person, but we are making a tremendous amount of progress. Let's keep the momentum going, and continue improving our community together.

Hey guys just to create a little more transparency here. The phone number for Fritch Animal Control is 806-898-1357. I'm starting to see a bunch of posts in the Fritch juice box that I have not been made aware of. If you have any animal related questions, please contact the work phone during working hours. Another question to answer. I can hold dogs for five days at the kennels before I can put them up to be adopted or euthanized, according to our code. I would much rather get them to a family that will take care of them and do everything in my power not to euthanize any animals. I haven't had to do that yet, and would like to keep it that way. Also if you feed strays, you are assuming responsibility of that animal. If you do not intend to keep the animal, please do not start feeding it and housing it, unless you are going to foster, or take it to a rescue shelter, where it can have a better chance at being adopted. If you are unsure about any of these things please contact me and we will figure it out together. Thank you and have a blessed day.

Alright guys. I've received word that Reece Watson, and Shay Mesnard will be starting the clean up project on the 300 block of South Ridgeland tomorrow. If you do not live in the area, please avoid it. As to make things safer, and more efficient for the workers. I would also like to give a big thank you to Reece, and Shay, for helping the city, and I to get this taken care of for the resident. Everyone stay safe and have a blessed week.

04/22/2024

Good morning everyone. I'm going to try and start a new volunteer program for our community. We've all heard of the adopt a highway program. With all of the excessive junk piling up in our alleyways, a citizen that wanted to help clean up his alley, made a light bulb go off in my head. What if we took two to three volunteers for each street, and allow them to adopt that alleyway for clean up. I have teamed up with the City Manager, and our Emergency Management Coordinator, and I think this is going to play a very positive impact on our community as a whole. Once a spreadsheet is made, I will me taking volunteers that want to sign up for each alley way. I will let you all know when that spreadsheet is created. If you are interested in adopting your alley, please contact me. I am not taking calls on it yet, but will as soon as the spreadsheet is out. Thank you everyone, and have a blessed day.

Alright guys, I'm going to try something new, that I believe will end up playing a positive impact on our community. I have discussed a plan with our City Manager, and Emergency Management Coordinator. I'm going to create a monthly mow list, to see if I can cut down the amount of letters that need to be sent out. I will not be putting out addresses, or names, as to respect everyone's privacy. I will simply put out a street name, and the number of properties that need to be mowed on that street. I believe it will help make us proactive as a community, and catch our town up on some much needed TLC. I love this town, and have grown up here. I take pride in my job, and want to see our community thrive again in all ways. I believe this list will help everyone in our community, including small business owners, that make their living off of lawn work. I believe in keeping you all informed, being transparent, and keeping a standard of public trust. I am also willing to listen to fresh ideas on how we can keep the ball rolling on improving our community. I will release our first mow down list today. Everyone have a great day, and be blessed.

PSA: Alright guys, a friendly reminder. That leaving your items next to the dumpster, is not acceptable. It's something I've started to notice a lot of since taking over as Code Enforcement. Please start taking items like this to our city dump. That's what it's for. I don't want anyone to start receiving citations. Let's keep our community clean guys.

Okay guys. I'm asking for help for one of our senior citizens within our community. This property at 303 South Ridgeland burned down January 20th. He was told that if everything was pushed to the front curb that Texas Baptist Men would take care of it. Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication somewhere, because he had it pushed towards the alley way. I need to help find him someone that can clean this up, and haul it off. Preferably within the week. Please let me know if anyone knows a company or organization that will help out.

Hi guys, just wanted to give everyone an update on what's going on at Fritch animal control. I am sorry for not responding the last three days, I have been out with a death in the family. Last week I got the chain link on the kennels patched, with my own tools the best that I know how. Today I have gotten approval, and I am waiting on a plumber to come and fix or replace a pump so that the kennels can be kept clean and have proper drainage. Should be able to start housing dogs hopefully this week. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
