Hi Ya'll! Gam's Garden will be closing the microgreen portion for the summer/early fall season.

Delivery of freshly harvested microgreens will resume in November 2023! I will send out reminders early November and I will post all the happenings of Gam's Garden here on our fb page.

Thank you to all those that have been ordering their weekly microgreens and supporting our local urban farm here in St Johns County! We appreciate you and wish you a healthy happy 2023.

Squirrels are helping grow nut trees. I noticed earlier this year the critters were digging in my potted moringa trees in the green house. I filled in the hole and forgot about it. Today as I was watering these trees I picked what I thought was a w**d. Lol it is a baby almond tree, seed still attached to the growth with a nice tap root attached. So I put it back in the soil and will hope we get an almond tree in a few years. For all the damage squirrels can cause in the garden this one thing I am thankful for. Happy Day 😊

Celebrate. 😉 It's a lady bug larva. Lady bugs are a major aphid predator, so they'll help you out with one of the worse early season pests.

Almost every time that we've got an infestation of aphids on our , give it a few weeks, and the lady bug larvas start to emerge from our oregano and other perennial herbs and veggies. Because we gave them a permanent home, when they just blew in on the wind, they decided "this is a nice home; we'll stay here." Pretty cool, huh?
