**Long post alert**

We've gotten quite a few new followers to our page so I wanted to take a minute to welcome everyone and also remind you all of a few of our policies, especially the ones I get the most questions on.

1. The boarding drop-off and pickup times are pinned at the top of the page. PLEASE be aware of those times when you book so you can plan to add an extra day to your stay if those times don't work for you. I've tried in the past to accommodate different schedules for people and it just doesn't work. I was constantly running back and forth and it creates complete chaos for the other boarders, so I have to stick to those times.

I spend a lot of time at the shop and your pets are playing and lounging the majority of their stay, but I don't live there lol. I appreciate you all understanding.

2. I don't give discounts for multiple pets. More pets = more work. There's more feedings, keeping more water bowls monitored, and we won't even talk about the additional amount of...poop. It's just part of it and I'm not complaining, but it's a fact.

3. I charge by the day, not the night. In the end I feel like it all averages out but I understand there are places that are cheaper and that's your choice. We aren't fancy but we do love on your fur babies an awful lot while they're here and will do our dead level best to keep them safe and happy.

4. If you want your dog groomed or bathed while they're here (before pickup), I'm glad to try and work that in but it isn't part of the boarding price and the more notice I have the better able I am to make that happen. Just let me know when you book if you want to add a service onto your stay.

5. Bookings require a 25% deposit. I'm not taking as many boards as I have previously so I have to weed out no shows in order to know when I need to cut off. Also, if you book specific days and your plans change, I'm happy to meet you a day before or later whatever the case may be but I ask that you pay for the days you booked. Chances are I've turned someone else away based on what I planned on having so early pickups do cost me money. If I ever win the lottery, this will all change and become a real fun hobby, but for now it’s how I pay my bills! 😜

6. Lastly, the past few months I haven't posted many (or any) pictures or videos of our boarders. There are several reasons for that - a lot of people don't want their pets posted on social media for various reasons, people don't want to advertise that they're out of town, and I'm just not good at taking pictures. I’d rather spend time with your pets as opposed to stressing about capturing the perfect shot. $30/day is not a small amount to pay for your babies to stay and I realize that, but it's also not enough for me to hire a social media manager and I really don't want to have to raise prices just for a few pictures. I'm happy to respond to messages letting you know how your pet is doing while you're away, but I promise if anything happens you will be contacted directly and immediately. After all, the majority of you are boarding your pets for vacations or breaks, so enjoy it! No news really IS good news in this case!

If you're keeping up with the forecast, it looks like we're in for some nasty weather this weekend! ❄️☃️
At the very least we know it's going to be bitter cold so PLEASE be prepared to keep your pets warm!

I know not every dog stays inside, but please have shelter/heat lamps/blankets ready for your fur babies and keep a check on their water to make sure it doesn't stay frozen and they can access it.

Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break!

I'll be back at the shop full swing this week and will start to return messages about appointments as I can so please be patient while I get caught up.

I have booked several boards over the break for Spring break, summer vacations, and fall break so just a reminder that if you are planning a trip and need to board your pets while you're away it's not too early to start planning for that.

We had a scare yesterday and wanted to make you all aware, because we always try to be totally transparent.

One of our frequent boarders appears to have escaped, although we have no idea how. There are no gaps in the fences, no signs of him having dug out, and the shop was still locked up tight. Thankfully his owners arrived at an odd time to pick up and saw him and everyone is OK!

This is a good time to remind everyone that we don't live at the shop or have anyone there 24/7. Someone is ALWAYS within 300 yards and we never leave the property without kenneling everyone, but after we learn the different personalities and learn who gets along with whom, we let them play. They love to be out lounging in one of the shops or playing and running in the fenced yards. However, even out and about, we still check in on them every 2 hours or so in addition to having cameras we can check remotely.

We're very grateful that this is the first time this has happened, especially with some of the larger and more rambunctious boarders we've had over the past year!

If you're boarding with us, or plan to board in the future, and you ONLY want your pet out when someone is physically there, that's fine but we just need to know that up front, but we really don't want to do that. It isn't much fun for your pets or us.

We appreciate the trust you put in us when you leave your pets here and we do everything we can to keep them as safe as possible. If you've been around, you know our personal babies are here as well so we feel it's as safe as we can make it outside of putting a dome over the outside (we aren't doing that lol)!

Anyway, just wanted you all to know - it happened. We'll always try to improve and think of ways to make things more secure and better for everyone, but for now all is well and everyone is safe and enjoying their day.

I've had to open up a half day Friday (12/20) to get everyone in before Christmas so if you still need an appointment I can take just a very few more. I will have to be done by 1pm so you will need to be able to pickup by then.

The Christmas rush is in FULL swing so let's all try to have a little grace the next few weeks...

I appreciate everyone being on time lately for their appointments, and also picking up fairly close to when I tell you your pet will be ready. With as many as I'm trying to do between now and Christmas, it's important to try and help out in that regard because I just don't have room to keep everyone here all day after they're done. Also - after they're groomed, you don't want them sitting in the crate longer than they have to and they can't go out and play or potty or they'll just get dirty all over again!!!!

Also, if you or whomever is dropping your pet off is sick or showing any signs of sickness, PLEASE request to re-schedule. I promise I'll bend over backwards to make that happen, but I can't afford to get sick this time of year.

If you don't have an appointment between now and Christmas and I don't see you, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and I love you all!

I have a client that is taking care of this beautiful boy until she can find him a home. She believes he was dropped off in Fyffe off Hwy. 75 - he's been taken to the vet and doesn't have a chip and she has shared on her page and a DeKalb and Jackson County site and no one had claimed him!

He's extremely chill, house broken, crate trained, and leash trained. She just can't keep him because she already has several dogs of her own.

Hey everybody - the grooming schedule is completely full for the remainder of the year. Unfortunately, I cannot take any more last-minute appointments unless there are cancellations. If you need to schedule and haven't done so, I can place you on the cancellation list, but that's all I can do.

Please note, the shop will be closed during the week of November 25th and the week of December 23rd for family time and personal rest. However, boarding services will remain available on those dates based on availability.

I'm already booking appointments for 2025. Clients with regular recurring appointments should schedule now for the upcoming year by texting 256-878-7297.

I'm having to cut back on the amount of pets I groom next year. This means I will no longer be able to groom some of the larger dogs, as well as the smaller, more feisty ones. It isn't personal and I will be glad to refer you to someone who will love your pets just as much as I do. After 28 years, I just can't wrestle them like I used to!
