Urgent Plea for help! In Early January 2024 I was made aware of puppies and mother dog in danger of freezing and starvation and offered temporary foster as I thought that
Was working with a reputable rescuer who had the heart and ability to help find the dogs homes. She didn’t help and a lot of information has come out about her (another story) she ghosted me when I asked about being reimbursed for the vaccine cost for puppies.
I am the finder and admin of several facebook rescue groups, great Pyrenees of Alabama rescue and rehoming, great Pyrenees of Alabama, Alabama animal, rescue network, and directory, and I moderate on great Pyrenees of North Florida. These are all Facebook groups where I volunteer my time and energy to help dogs find homes more specifically great Pyrenees. I find myself out of my network with these hound shepherd mix puppies. I have been the Sole caregiver for these dogs during one of the most challenging times of my life. It has been an unhealthy choice and taken every ounce of my resources and capacity and more than I can give. I have over extended myself and my family and now we are experiencing an urgent need and lack of food for human and dogs, extreme debt, deworming meds, fencing, and poorly maintained and deteriorating quality of life for Dogs and caregiver. I have been contemplating the saddest last resort of humane euthanization of some of the most perfect dog/puppies to ever exist. I cannot keep living this way! I have raised and trained them well and they are all potty And crate trained. They potty on command and will stop running full sp*ed to go p*e on command, fetch and retrieve, sit and are very good boys and their mother is very sweet and eager to obey and play. They have all day bladders and are generally quiet in their crates where They spend 98% of their time. They are currently on flea and tick prevention utd on vaccines and will be neutered before release.These Shepherd/Hound mixes are so very loving and devoted. As far as dicipline they have had strong groundwork and are very willing to learn and please despite being raised in a pack they respond quickly to their names. They’ve had the benefit of being in a consistent home and being expected to do what they were told and I up my discipline with them.Highly food and praise motivated, threats work too. I have been posting on social media, I admin rescue groups but am not a facility and do not have a 501c3 therefore I cannot post them to groups like petfinder and have not been able to work with any rescues, not from a lack of trying. Everyone is full and they can help all the irresponsible owners and abandoned dogs, but not help me aside from the odd donated food and spay/neuter vouchers. I am beyond desperate. I am so saddened to not have had any interest in these fantastic canines. I made them a website and have passed out flyers with a QR code. I have been moving and packing up my mom and dads home after my fathers death with 7 dogs, going through 250lb+ of food monthly and barely have a roof over our heads but the grace of my mother who is in a nursing home and should have the option to be in her own house that has been taken over by dogs and belongings. All my time and energy is consumed with trying to maintain 7 dogs and it isn’t fair or healthy for any of us at this point. I have been posting for 11 months and have had some kind donations which have really pulled us through. If you could find it in your heart to foster, adopt, sponsor, and rescue and share share share one or all of these dogs you would be saving more than one life! I have been unemployed and am in such a bad place mentally, physically, and financially and feel hopeless. There is an adoption fee that is far less than what has been invested. These dogs would also make a good hunting pack but will only be allowed into good homes. The puppies Sailor, Ranger, Scout, and Pirate are hound and German shepherd mixes 50 lbs and 11 months.
