The College of Veterinary Medicine is excited to announce that we are inviting the community to our campus to share some of the incredible aspects of our college. On Saturday, April 5 from 9am-1pm the CVM will host its 2nd annual Vet Fest.

Students, faculty and staff will provide information and exhibits on veterinary medicine, biomedical science and Public & One Health. Featured activities will include a canine parade of breeds, painted horse, teddy bear surgery, the Auburn Raptor Center, student club exhibits and much more. This event is free and open to the public. Stay tuned to our social media pages for event updates.

Prepare now for the cold “arctic blast” moving in overnight. Pets and livestock need a clean and dry place to stay warm. Check water sources regularly.

ALL PUPPIES HAVE BEEN ADOPTED! Thank you!

We need your help to find a home for the remaining puppy - Noah. They are super sweet and ready to bond with their new family.
People are welcome to come by and visit them to see if they are a fit.

Update—— Ester, Jonah & Moses have been Adopted!
These puppies were left in a tote in our church parking lot this morning. They will be taken to a local shelter next week but if anyone is interested in adopting one of these sweet puppies, let us know through FB messenger or call the clinic. They are around 9 weeks. If you adopt one, the puppy vaccines will be free from the clinic for the puppy series. Please share with anyone looking to adopt a puppy.

Roads are in rough shape this morning. We are going to remain closed. If you had an appointment today, call Monday to re-schedule. If you have an emergency call Dr. Marks at 256-504-2914.

We (Landon and Lauren) will be at the clinic at 8:30 doing treatments. We will not be open today.
If you need us call Dr. Marks at 256-504-2914, we can get to the clinic if needed. Otherwise we will be playing in the snow.

If you have a Friday appointment scheduled and want to change to Thursday or Monday, give us a call today 8:30-12:30 and we can get you rescheduled. If road conditions are bad Friday morning, we will have a skeleton crew at the clinic or possibly close.

Friday could be a weather closure depending on travel conditions.
***Get prescriptions needed today or Wednesday to get you by for a few weeks.

Preparation is key for winter weather and pets/livestock.
• protect from the North Wind
• Provide bedding and safe heat source if outside
• Feed livestock in the evening to help them stay warm overnight through digestion
• keep fresh water available, break up ice
• bring pets indoors when possible
• feed best quality hay and supplement energy if hay is lower quality

The next seven days will bring overnight/early morning temperatures in the lower 20s to lower 30s (with the exception of Sunday night into Monday morning). Be sure to:
🐶 ensure pets have a warm, dry shelter
💧 allow pipes and faucets to drip if necessary
🪴 bring cold-sensitive plants indoors or cover them
🫂 check on loved ones and neighbors, especially the elderly

We are open today 12/31 normal hours (8:30-5:30). We will be closed tomorrow 1/1/2025 (New Years Day).

As we close the book on 2024, we wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for being part of the Marks Animal Hospital Family and continuing to choose us to care for your pets. We strive to provide quality care at an affordable price.
