๐๐Owning a dog is not just a privilege; itโs a responsibility. They depend on us for, at minimum, food and shelter, and deserve much more. When you take a dog into your life, you need to understand the commitment that dog ownership entails. IT'S FOREVER
A beautiful female Boxer was locked into the feed room of our barn. Seems someone put her there. She could not have gotten in it alone. She looks well cared for. Red and white. No collar so no tags.
I will not post a picture so that the rightful owner may identify. Unless of course the owner โ surrendered โ her here where they knew she had a chance.
If anyone knows of someone missing a baby please have them text me at 940-902-3756. Sam was in the barn on Thursday so she was put in the barn sometime since Thursday evening. I believe last night. One of my dogs was barking around 1:30 am.
If she was placed there and the owner sees this, please text me and at least tell me her name. She is very sweet but scared. No condemnation. Just please give me any info so I can help her.
Chance. Aka Big Big.
At 6 pm Sunday, peacefully laying on his bed with me beside him, my Chance went to the Rainbow Bridge.
The face that stole my heart. From the very first pic I saw of you walking down the road just trying to survive, I knew my life would never be the same. Your face changed my life. Threw me head first into rescue because โEveryone deserves a Chance โ. I was so fortunate to be chosen as your adopted Mom.
Over the 10 years that you ruled your rescue, your face and cast iron will to survive, resulted in the rescue of over 500 pups, countless wildlife and livestock.
You changed my life in so many ways. By my side daily. You were there during the laughter and the tears. Your big goofy attitude and playful ways never failed to bring a smile. During tough times, that head laid over over my shoulder and my arms around you, took all the tears, fears and worries.
You never failed to be my protector, my friend, my confidant. My Chance.
Time went by and you slowed down but always steadfast. To the end.
I know you were greeted at the bridge by all of your furry siblings and the rescues who proceeded you. You and Duke arrived here within a month of each other and left four months apart. The bridge is definitely a playful place today.
RIP my sweet boy. I hope you know how much you were loved and how much you will be missed. Life will never be the same.
Nov 6 marked 10 years since I went to Louisiana to meet and bring home my Chance. In his 10 years here, he has helped many pups and livestock and wildlife find their forever families or return to the wild.
Daily he has showered his family with love and gratitude for his rescue. Never fails to bring a smile to anyoneโs face.
Chance is winding down. He only leaves his bed twice a day to eat and potty. Other than that he sleeps and will occasionally sit up a while.
I know our days together are very much numbered. Saying goodbye to my Big will be extremely hard but I know he will see his rescues at the bridge. If only I could turn back time.
