Ruby!

With a lot of back and forth I decided to go ahead list Miss Ruby! I’ll go ahead and say, she hasn’t been with us for to long, just a few months now. I purchased her as a barrel horse prospect, but the more I work with her the more I realize she might not have the grit I am needing for this event. She’s a great girl! She doesn’t have a spook in her, she’s great with kids, horses and ponies! Just a very honest sweet loving little mare. Her only thing that’s seemingly not working out for what I had in mind for her is that she is a little on the lazy side. She’s more to with the flow. I believe she would make a great first horse for somebody, or even a small time saddle club/fair/4-H horse for kid, most definitely a trail horse. She doesn’t seem to be phased by much of anything so I can even see her being a light ranch work horse.

She really is an outstanding girl, just needs her own person!

Biggie is a 4 year old AQHA gelding. He’s broke to ride and has been started on pushing cows, barrel pattern, reining and has had a rope thrown off him a time or two! He’s you’re typical young boy! Has a great head on his shoulders and is ready to get to work! Rarely do I get a horse that loves to learn and is so quick to pick things up! He will be an excellent horse for someone who is ready to retire their current horse and need an up and comer! He’s already started so he is ready to be taken the rest of the way!

If you are looking for talent and flash then stop your search! I am really excited about being able to offer our very own "Diesel"!

Diesel is a grade paint quarter horse and a proven ranch horse! He is the head horse to our heel horse "Big Sexy" who is also still available and listed on our page as well. He is push button and knows his job. We have also played around with ranch cutting and sorting and he does amazing! If you are wanting a cow horse (or a goat horse, pig, buffalo, mustang, if you can rope it he will drag it!) this is your guy! He is fearless! He would also make an excellent horse for someone to learn on as well (such as myself, because I do not hide the fact I am not the best roper) and you can focus more on sharpening your skill instead of worrying about the horse. He does great in a group or on his own. One of the best traits this guy has goes hand in hand with his fearlessness because (for example) on trail rides if you have a horse that won't cross a creek or go down a certain trail, Diesel is the guy you send in first to show the others there isn't anything to worry about! I really truly cannot say enough great things about this horse!

I am super excited to be able to offer this good looking guy! “Pretty Boy” is ready for his forever trail partner!

Pretty Boy is an amazing saddle horse. His gait is smooth as silk! So smooth you can balance a freshly opened coke can on his back end and take off down the road and it won’t spill! He is super sweet with excellent ground manners and will follow you around like a puppy! His favorite thing is behind the ear scratches! You get that spot behind his ear and it’s hysterical how much he enjoys it! Now I will say this, as of right now he is not a beginners horse. When you first hop on he is ready to go! He won’t blow up, he has an excellent stop and won’t take off with anybody, he is not cold backed by any means but his excitement when you first swing that leg over I believe may be a bit much for an inexperienced rider or someone who doesn’t have that much confidence in their skill just yet. With that being said though, with more miles under his girth and consistency and bonding with someone, it will not take long for this sweet boy to overcome that! If you’re a confident rider looking for a flashy, fun all around horse to hit the trails with this summer than Pretty Boy is your guy!

He yields off leg pressure, trained to side step to a mounting block, neck reins, you name it, pumpkin can do it! This stunning guy is up for consideration! We call him
Hollywood because it just fits him! He’s big, flashy, animated, and an absolute dream boat! If you are looking for something to stunt in, this stunning gentleman is your man!

Hollywood is an American Saddlebred gelding. I have misplaced his registration papers so as of now we are offering him as grade. I cannot say enough things about this horse! He is fit for the show ring but his favorite thing to do is trails! We trail ride all our horses but something about the trail for Hollywood, I can’t explain it, he just loves it! He gets excited and can go for hours and still want more! He does have a lot of get up and go but with that he is also just a pocket pet! He’s one of the first to greet you at the gate and really enjoys his pampering time (brushing down, feet picked and baths) and he will sparkle like a brand new penny!! Anybody can ride him, and has an excellent stop but like I mentioned he really does like to go, so keep that in mind. He is shod all the way around with small trail pads on the front.

Jack got his name because he is literally a jack of all trades, but not a master at anything specific. What do I mean by that? I mean this horse has literally dabbled in a bit of EVERYTHING! Trails, cows, rodeo, jumping, dressage, roping, trails, hunting, you name it hes at least done it once! If you are looking for a great all around horse but unsure which direction you yourself want to go in, and want to try a few different things? Then Jack is hands down your guy! River is our AQHA Registered gelding. He is that horse that would fit absolutely anybody! Have a young kid that’s ready to step up from that pony into the stirrup of something more disciplined? River is your guy! Are you a more experienced rider ready for a fine tuned horse that will take you to the next level? River can get you there! Wanting something husband proof? What about something the whole family can share? River will baby sit your kid during warmup and cool down and will step it into high gear and show out when you ride! He’s just an amazing all around horse that will take care of anybody that is on his back! His base discipline is reining so he will stop and spin on a dime. He one finger neck reins in a loose rein and is also very responsive to leg pressure cues. My daughter has an absolute ball riding this fella (I know the tack get up is a little wonky but my girl insisted she ride him in her saddle lol which is just a testament to his gentle nature, especially with kids because it didn’t phase him one bit!) Double Stuff here is a draft cross gelding and you want to talk about a little horse a personality that matches the size of that specific feature every draft horse lover loves about drafts! He is broke to ride and has done a little bit of everything just for the fun of it!He is a very easy catch and I just adore this big little horse! In true draft horse fashion, we here at the farm treat him like a puppy dog because he’s just so cute and fluffy and gives the best hugs!!! He is shod all the way around and is ready for his next big adventure!

I know this question will be asked, is he broke to drive? The answer honestly is I’m not sure. When he came to us we never thought to ask that question since driving isn’t something we do here, but given his sweet personality and willingness to do what is asked of him, it wouldn’t surprise me that he would be very easy to break to a cart (if he doesn’t already know how)

I am excited to introduce to you all a young up and comer! This is "Buck"! Don't worry though, he doesn't have a buck in him!

This beautiful boy is broke to ride and has a solid foundation, he just hasn't been formally trained in any specific discipline yet. He has excellent ground manners as well as under saddle though and he is ready to go in any direction! I would not consider him a beginner's horse, however, if you can ride, you can ride this guy! He is a lot of fun and has beautiful movement! If you are wanting to finish a horse yourself, this your guy! He's fast so I can definitely see barrel racing (which the longer he stays with us, that will be the direction I take him), roping, ranching, cattle work, etc... anything faced paced and competitive would be a great fit! He of course would also make a nice trail horse as well, which is mostly what he has been doing at this time. He will go up and down anything anything as well as cross water and trudge through mud! He is a youngster too so he has his whole life ahead of him!

Looking for something a little different? Ellie here is our registered CURLY Quarter Horse! This isn't something we normally do, but we swooped in and saved this girl from an uncertain future and I am so glad we did! She is just the sweetest thing, which is how she got her barn name! She is just an absolute puddin cup! Calm as can be and everybody here adores her! Despite whatever may have happened in her past, she does not allow it to affect her present or future! She loves people and attention and cuddles! She is broke to ride and my little ones have a ball just crawling all over her and playing games. We joke and say we have a cow on our horse farm right now because that is exactly what she looks like with those curls and that big quarter horse head and jaw! I would really like for her to go to a family who will continue to love her the way we do here! She does not have anything medically wrong with her, she just older and needs continued TLC. She would make a great companion horse, pet, or for someone with a young child who would like to learn to ride and take it slow and easy.

Oh boy! Look what we have here!! You want to talk about a fancy looking mule! Everybody this is "Skipper"!

Skipper is the trail king! He will climb any mountain, cross any fallen tree and water! He will even power through a little deer trail or make his own if you asked him to! He is a fun little guy that is for sure! Even though we have only used him for trails, he would make an excellent sport mule! He is quick, agile and sure footed! He has had 60 days professional training where they broke him to a cart (I am not to familiar with training an animal to drive which is why we sent him away, because why not make him to best he can be right?) and he did amazing! He doesn't mind his ears touched and doesn't have a kick or buck in him! He is an excellent little fella that is for sure and he will make whomever brings him home so so happy!

Miss Red here is a lovely little walking pony mare, who is as gentle and calm as they come! So what is this “special offer”? Well, she’s a package deal because SHE’S PREGNANT! By none other than our very own Mining For Gold aka Muffin! We had the vet come out and check twice and sure enough, she’s due in September! And the best part? Being that Muffin is one of our registered, DNA tested Perlino stud horses, because of his genetics, this foal that Miss Red is carrying is going to a BUCKSKIN with black points!

Miss Red is carrying her baby very well right now and is perfectly healthy and happy! She would make an excellent brood mare or a lovely addition to any family

Oh my goodness you want to talk about cute as a button and so so sweet! I’m excited to introduce little miss “Lightening” (get it! Lightening with the yellow hair? Because she’s a palomino quarter horse and my daughter is blonde?… I thought it was cute… anyways… lol)

Lightening here is just a baby doll! Her winter woolies are showing her a light creamy color but she will most definitely slick out and turn that beautiful golden color this summer! Looking for a nice turn key ranch pony? Lightening is your girl! She is a finished ranch horse! Wanting something adorable and flashy to trail ride with this summer? Sweet Tiger here is our goodest good boy who we currently use as our lesson horse here at Big Bucks! He has a nice smooth trot and a beautifully collected short lope! He is that horse who will break from the herd and meet you at the gate when he sees you. He loves attention and being brushed. He is very level headed and is the horse I’m teaching my 5 year old how to canter on since he is so slow and easy. Did I mention I’ve him started in western pleasure training? He is such a natural at it, it’s taken him no time at all to pick up the basics of that discipline! He would be an excellent horse for someone who wants to begin their show journey or even a seasoned show person. Even if showing isn’t your thing, he would make a great family trail/4-H horse!

Oh my goodness you want to talk about handsome! Meet “Tip”! Have you ever seen a draft cross gelding look this slick!?

Tip spent some time in Utah doing big time ranching! He is slow and steady which I love, but will get after it when he needs to. He’s built, with good strong legs and feet. I am trying to find the best way to explain this… he is cowy but he isn’t that horse that will “eat a cow”, he’s big so his sheer size will just get them cows pushed where they need to go. Nothing phases this guy. He will do everything that is asked of him. He has excellent ground manners and just a big sweetie pie! He got his name Tip because he got a a touch or frost bite. He was well taken care of but now has a little tip of his year missing and it’s just the most adorable thing and adds a little something extra in my opinion! You want a good solid dependable horse than Tip here is your guy! He would of course make a great ranch work horse but also a trail horse! I can even see some light competition in him as well if that’s a route you would like to take!

Cloud is a very sweet little mare with a lot of personality! You can’t tell because of the winter woolys but she is flea bitten grey. She’s broke to ride and knows all the basics and has a strong foundation but hasn’t been trained in any specific discipline so the possibilities are endless with whatever direction you decide to go with her! Anybody can ride her! She’s small enough for your kiddo but big enough for mom and dad to hop on too. She’s just been a little barn pet with us for the kiddos to ride around on. She gets along great in a mixed herd with mares and geldings and does fine on her own. She would be great as a step up horse for a young rider whose ready for something a little more! I see her being an excellent little barrel pony but on the flip side I can see her being a great jumper or dressage sport pony!

He’s big! He’s flashy! He’s sexy! He’s “Big Sexy”!! Did I mention he’s a gelding??

He is hands down my favorite horse we have at the ranch to date! You look up ”handy broke” in the dictionary, you will see this guy! He one finger neck reins, moves of leg pressure like butter, stops and spins on a dime! He’s been used to sort and push cows. He’s also been a header and a heeler and will back into a box like it’s his second nature and when that shoot opens, you best be prepared to show out! He is that horse that knows his job and will take care of you. He would be a great horse to learn on as well because Lord knows he’s teaching me! (I’m not the best roper in the world, but I’m trying and Sexy here has been the best!) Nothing phases him and he’s extremely patient which is outstanding for an Appaloosa! Because technically that is what he is! A strawberry roan appy! I would consider the best fit for him would be an intermediate rider. Someone who may not have ridden their whole life, but also won’t be intimidated by his size, strength and speed. He’s got a lot of power in that trunk!

If you are in need of something big and dependable then this 7 horse slant is for you! It was our everyday hauler for a few years but it’s just to much for what we need so we downgraded to a four horse trailer and now this beast is just kind of sitting here now. No it is not the prettiest trailer, I’ll give you that, but it is solid! It rides smooth and will get you and your crew safely anywhere you want to go! It does NOT have a title but if you run the vin I am sure you can obtain one, we just never really needed it therefore didn’t think to get one and time slipped by (we all know how that goes!)
