This handsome buck is looking for some new does. I have retained some of his kids and he needs to move along, I need some space in the buck pens! He is an extremely gentle buck- very easy to handle and hand breed and he does produce nice kids.

We wish we could have announced this sooner but, unfortunately, life got in the way and we had a death in the family with Kyle's mother having lost her battle with cancer in back in May.

Now that the storm has subsided for the most part and our lives have relatively returned to normal, we would like to announce the arrival of our newest members of the herd!

Firstly, a huge thank you to Hilltop Farm allowing us to bring Agape's Prize Mason's Marvel and Agape's Prize Countersue to our farm here at Elegant Oak!

Then, to top it all off, we were able to purchase Wolfivan Ace Of Spades a month later! We absolutely cannot wait to see what his kids look like come spring.

Holy cow! It’s been an amazing week here in Redmond Oregon at the ADGA National Show! We have never had the pleasure of attending but heard from multiple farms that if we ever had the opportunity, it’s an absolute must go. It’s been a whirlwind but we took a shot and loaded up a few kids and a few milkers since it was in our relative area here on the west coast. All of the girls showed wonderfully, exceeded our base expectations and were on their absolute best behavior (well…most of the time 😆).

The classes were huge in true Nigerian Dwarf fashion with over 20 does in the smallest class and 85 in another 😳.

To say we are excited is an understatement, we are bringing home 3 does that made the top 20, one of which even cracked the top 10! And to top it off 2 of them are our own home bred kids!! We met some wonderful people and learned a lot along the way and will undoubtedly be returning any chance we get!

What a weekend! I flew home from a family vacation Thursday evening, to pack up and head to Redmond Oregon for the ADGA National show. Huge thank you to Carrie Satterlee with Sweet Bliss Ranch and Pauline for helping be bathe and clip all 11 goats on Friday (during the heatwave 🥵)😅!

We left early(ish) Saturday with Smithen Farm Nubians and had a nice road trip! If you are in Redmond please feel free to stop by and say hi! We are in the Sagebrush Arena. Can’t wait for the girls to show off on Tuesday and Wednesday 🤩

In June we made it to Motherlode. This time we brought even more goats, and every class had 20+ does in it 😳! In the yearling milkers we had Ilenesrascals RJ Yuki Chan who was 5th and 5th, Ca BlackBerry’s UD Lady Bug was 6th and 10th while Ca BlackBerry’s Daffodil ended up 13th and 7th. For 2 year old milkers Castle Rock Sophia Loren took a 3rd and 5th. Sequoia Mtn Sea Peep was in the 3 yr old class and was 11th and 6th.

For the Juniors in the dry yearling class Elegant Oak Chocolate Panache was 4th and 15th, and Elegant Oak Deja Vu was 6th and 21st. In the Sr kids Elegant Oak AX Cece was 18th and 11th, Elegant Oak C Dirty Martini took a 14th and 2nd, and Elegant Oak C Chloe took a 17th and 4th in the Jr kids class.

Also a huge congratulations to Sweet Bliss Ranch with their Reserve Champion Joshua Farm Honey out of our doe Goat Addiction Sun Garnet!

For the first time we also went to REDGA for Memorial Saturday and had another great day. Ilenesrascals RJ Yuki Chan made her show ring debut by placing 7th and 8th out of a huge yearling milker class. Castle Rock Sophia Loren also had another pretty good show placing 6th and 9th in huge competitive classes. We also took JAL Ranch Scarlet Jessica and she brought home an 11th in a competitive 5+ milkers ring. Our Juniors Elegant Oak C Dirty Martini bright home an 8th and Elegant Oak C Chloe took a 10th. We ended up scratching the last 2 rings because it got cold and our juniors became extremely uncooperative 😂

Once again better late than never right!? I’ll post each show individually.

We went to Paso and had a great (but extremely long) day in April. Took Castle Rock Sophia Loren and she was 4 and 3 out of 20+ 2year old milkers, we also took Elegant Oak Karen who ended up mid pack. For the Juniors Elegant Oak C Dirty Martini took a 5th and Elegant Oak AX Cece took an 8th in very competitive Sr kids ring.

We still have three sweet boys available from Sky’s latest and probably final litter so if you’ve been on the fence about getting a new best friend, now is the time! All three are 9 weeks old and ready to go to their new homes. They come with registration paperwork and have all been vet checked healthy along with their first round of shots and de-worming meds.

Our pups are raised around kids and other animals of both the domestic and farm varieties so they’re always exceptionally well socialized and are a perfect fit for any home scenario. Also, unlike most pups, these boys are the most passive litter to date. Their calm demeanor coupled with the high intelligence of their breed is sure to make training a breeze!

Everyone who has one of our pups says that they’re the best dog they’ve every had. Prices are negotiable so don’t hesitate and see what an Elegant Oak Farm Mini Aussie is all about!

Castle Rock Sophia Loren delivered 1 doe and 2 fancy buck kids by Old Mountian Farm Particrashah. These will be the only buck kids offered from this second group of kids.

Sophia was first place in both rings at the only show she attended last year, we have high hopes for her this coming year!

With the small break during kiddings, we used our “free time” to build us a 6 goat milking stanchion!! Since we have been milking more and more does each year, we figured it was time for an upgrade in order to decrease the time spent milking. Every minute saved is a minute well spent!

Huge thanks to the always handy labor division for the planning and the building!
