Why I Started Equestrian Gardens
When people ask me why I started Equestrian Gardens, the answer isn’t just one thing—it’s many. But the reason that stands out most was born from a vision: to transform horse shows from dry, dusty landscapes into lush, vibrant spaces where nature thrives, inspired by many if NYC’s parks.
Today, I visited @littleislandnyc, a stunning example of how once-industrial spaces can become havens for both people and nature. It’s inspiring to see how commercial piers were reimagined to integrate shrubs, trees, flowers and grasses into a complex urban setting.
This year, we’re doubling down on our mission to find new ways to bring green to the spaces we touch. Beyond being beautiful, these green spaces work: they sequester carbon, filter stormwater runoff, and create homes for all kinds of life to flourish.
For us, this is what it means to help develop forward. 🌿
Off to Ocala this week. I hope to see you there!

🪴We’re still marveling at the transformation at @hitshorseshows this past summer, where Equestrian Gardens reshaped the garden experience to be green, lush, and buzzing with biodiversity. Thank you to @kindmediallc for capturing these beautiful moments!
🌴 As winter approaches, our focus shifts to Ocala and Wellington, bringing the Equestrian Gardens touch to farms, homes, and special events. Contact us to learn more about how we design spaces that reflect the equestrian lifestyle—both in beauty and sustainability.

We are thrilled to welcome Halie Robinson and Huntridge to the Equestrian Gardens family, marking our first California-based client!
This project was completed with Halie’s creative vision, capturing the farm’s signature colors and luxury feel, first at Capital Challenge and then at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. The design process was a true collaboration, adjusting the design on the fly with hand sketches to tackle environmental challenges and even late-night texts to bring this vision to life!
What made this project even more exciting was the chance to meet Huntridge at Harrisburg, where we reused plants sourced from local Maryland-based growers and nurseries.
Equestrian life almost always poses environmental challenges. Whether it’s designing around drainage issues or adjusting to an unexpected stall configuration, the key is to keep moving forward, finding creative solutions to move onto the next question.
Best of luck to Halie and her team @panationalhs. Don’t forget to tune in to Halie’s story on @theplaidhorsemag Plaidcast.
🌻 Honored to represent Beacon Hill Stables and Stonehenge at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show with a tack room design by Equestrian Gardens! 🌾
The experience draws inspiration from nature in late September and early October and one of our favorite artists, Yayoi Kusama and her pumpkins. We’ve incorporated art from fashion innovator, Gucci, creating a beautiful, functional space for planning and relaxation.
We love creating special moments for Beacon Hill and Stonehenge. It’s the teamwork that truly brings our designs to life, from planning to design to installation.
If you’re in the North Hall, check out our latest design featuring stunning tablescape florals by Paper Moon, a small business in downtown Harrisburg. We’re thrilled to add Paper Moon to our list of trusted, artistic partners, in the Harrisburg area!
For full-service designs, message us—we still have availability for the National Horse Show!
Special thanks to Stacia, Max, Julian, TJ, Krista, Abby, and Heather for their teamwork, and to our amazing team back home in NY for sourcing, packing, and tying up loose ends to make the installation go so smoothly! Best of luck to the teams at Beacon Hill and Stonehenge at PNHS!

🌱 Replanting season has arrived at @hits_hudsonvalley! While the horses have moved indoors, Equestrian Gardens and the @hitshorseshows teams are hard at work replanting flowers, shrubs, and trees to create an even more vibrant environment for 2025.
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
1. Inventorying perennials and annuals
2. Surveying the property for key planting zones to enhance the landscape.
3. Selecting trees, plants and shrubs for planting and composting to return nutrients to the earth, creating more homes for wildlife
4. Discovering wildlife and planning around their habitats - from beavers to birds, bees, turtles, and more—who have made HITS their home
5. Locating spots where shrubs can access natural water sources and provide shade
6. Placing shrubs and trees for planting
Stay tuned as we continue to transform the HITS landscape into a beautiful haven for horses, humans, and wildlife!
🍂✨ What’s behind the barn door? All the places we go and our latest autumn designs for @meadowview_farm_ny at @capitalchallengehorseshow by Equestrian Gardens. 🌾 Safe travels to Team MeadowView—we wish you beautiful days ahead in MD!
This collection draws inspiration from the rich fall harvest season on Eastern Long Island, with hues of burgundy, green, and light orange that celebrate the region’s deep agricultural roots. 🌻 Don’t miss MeadowView’s stunning corn stalks, made from broom corn, known for its striking seed head that perfectly embodies the spirit of autumn.

Feeling grateful to see @equestriangardens’ designs for @hitshorseshows featured as the backdrop for @hits_hudsonvalley and the Regional Dressage Championships at @hitsdressage! Created in partnership with the HITS dressage leadership team, these designs were crafted back in February/March, installed in May, and maintained through September. Our goal was to optimize natural resources—water, soil, and plant materials—by creating a design that serves both dressage and hunter/jumper events, all while embracing a uniquely Hudson Valley chic style. Thrilled to see our vision and partnership come to life!
Regional dressage final ready @hitsdressage. Welcome to fall in the Hudson Valley with floral designs by @equestriangardens.
Something very special happened here…Thank you @kindmediallc for capturing the beauty in all its forms during @hits_hudsonvalley Summer.
