Mr. Felix went to his new home today. I know he’s in good hands and will have lots of fun with his new friends and girlfriend ❤️ My heart is sad tho and he’ll be missed here! Sometimes you have to let go to keep moving forward with your plans …. Bye FeeFee 😔

I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to drink Mariana’s delicious milk ❤️ It’s been YEARS since I have been able to stomach something other than Almond Milk …I don’t know why I waited soooo long to do this! Now we are on to making other things 👏 Greek Yogurt is first on list …have 1/2 gallon going rn!

**Ms Mariana with her twine Halo that Bg made for her while milking lol 🥰 She’s given us 3/4 gal milk every morning (milking only 1x a day).**

Update: Chicken is so pretty 😍 This is what her “pocket” looks like now. Definitely has shrunk! Cleaned it and filled with Nu-Stock. Hoping it will completely close!

Wild start to the day … at 5:30 am Tatonka had a C**n cornered against outside of goat Pen. By time I got out there with flash light, the C**n was done for. This is the 1st time I seen him in action protecting his animals to the point of death. I am extremely grateful for him!! No, I didn’t take the C**n away from him …. I let him decide when we (farm animals and us) were safe. He walked away after catching his breath so I put it in garbage. I was kinda surprised that he didn’t want to eat it …he did an excellent job staying away from C**n’s sharp teeth and claws!

We have turkeys and chickens that free range 24/7 …a couple of those are broody Moms right now. All Moms have been accounted for so we are good 😊 This could also be why Blaze (turkey Momma) was super uneasy the other night. She tried roosting with her 4 babies on the roof of our house! Blaze was sleeping on ground in tall weeds but I have locked her up last 2 nights because of her behavioral change and I’m glad that I did!!

On side note, look at the cute Brahma, Maran, and mixed Deathlayers chicks that are hatching ❤️❤️

This goose has been a true blessing for us. He/She brings so much laughter and happiness everyday …if you are on the “fence” about getting a goose, I say DO IT!! Of course, use common sense - do your research - and make sure you have time/patience to devote to the goslings. You won’t regret it ….totally in love 🥰 😉😊

Well, there are always interestingly crazy things going on at the Farm.

Here’s the back story to pics below:
At the beginning of Spring, my “feral” Turkey Hen (Chicken) was sliced open by my big Tom, Clyde. Her side was wide open with just a hanging chunk of flesh. I did my best to keep clean, applying NU-STOCK, got her an apron, and kept her isolated until I felt like she could mingle with the Toms without be ripped opened again - this took AWHILE.

So yesterday morning, I was able to corner her in a pen to take a peak at how her wound has been healing since I let her back with everyone. This is what it I found!!! The last pic is the “puss rock” that I pulled out of the skin pocket that it formed. It stunk sooo BAD 🤮🤢 and it was full of sand that I had to poor/dig out. I cleaned it out really good with water and disinfectant. Put NU-STOCK inside of it again and packed with gauze. Chicken cooperated amazingly!! Of course, I left apron on her. I can now say that my Turkey has her own pocket 😂🤣🤦‍♀️

BTW, I found the gauze on the ground about mid-day so that didn’t last long 🙄

Our first successful turkey hen hatch!! I’m super excited about these gorgeous sweet babies ❤️ She is doing a wonderful job. Four already went to new home yesterday, 4/5 more will go tomorrow, and will still have just a few available. I’m holding 4 or 5 back for Momma Blaze 😉 She hatched 18👏👏

Meet Goosey ❤️❤️ out of the 4 Sebelpoot eggs this little guy hatched. I was able to put 3 more in about a week ago so hopefully he’ll have a buddy soon!

Turkey Hens absolutely DO strut!! This is Sugar… SugMa thinks she’s boss and does NOT like my Speckeled Sussex Rooster, Spots. I’m not sure what he has done to her but it has been this way for a year or more lol. Mr. Tom (Sweetgrass Ton) was trying to put SugMa in her place lol.

The Pump House has now become the Dairy Barn! On Wednesday, Shireen help me clean out Feed Shed, organize it, move stuff from Pump House to Feed Shed, and make a few runs to dump/landfill. We seriously worked all day with 20 min break but we got it done 😉

Now, the fun starts!! I like transforming these buildings so next to come: square rubber interlocking mats for easy clean on floor, finish putting walls up and paint, shelving, and whatever else needed. Anyone have any suggestions, I’m open to that as well 🙂

We’ve been working hard getting ready for dairy goats these last couple weeks. My honey put plans together for a milking stand and yesterday we worked together to get it done 👏 Tesla was ALL about it and in to EVERYTHING 🤦‍♀️

My honey is super sweet 😊 He spent Sun afternoon making a shelter over the goats hay feeder for me. Also, made it more sturdy and safe for them ❤️😉

We (all the children +1 and I) planted some veggies on Tuesday. The boys had a blast but Hazlyn not so much which kinda surprised me …think the tiny seeds intimidate her 🙁 Pots are in green house now so we’ll see what happens ….really hoping some grow so the kids don’t get disappointed lol

Tesla was supervisor ….umm, more like trampler 😂🤦‍♀️

I was trying to sell these hatching eggs BUT seems like a lot of ppl want them for nothing. Now I’m glad that I didn’t just “give them away” since this Ember has decided she wants babies! 👏👏Here goes … 😉

You guys, I’m sooooo excited about these geese eggs!! One thing that I love about selling/buying animals, are the ppl that you meet along the way. Many of them are nice and you never know how things may work out 😉 I was able to put Sebastopol Goose eggs in the incubator a couple days ago withOUT breaking the bank because of a super sweet person that I have met on this adventure …..I feel blessed ❤️

Turkey love while you are “behind bars” is sooo hard 😂🤦‍♀️

Chicken stays in submitted position for most of day while the boys circle around outside of it. She was ripped open on her side when big boy Clyde mounted her at the beginning of breeding season 🙄.

I have been administering 1st Aid and recovery time since then. Chicken still has a little flap of skin that hasn’t healed to the point where I feel like it won’t get snagged by toe nails during love making process (which is very sloppy/awkward for turkeys!). I think they are ALL over this “healing period” tho…

I’ll have to get vidoe of Shaddy doing his “sexy dance” for Chicken ….

Meet Jack!!

Jack was a butthead.
Jack went to Turken pen to meet Billy. Billy has taught Jack some manners. Now, Jack is a sweet boy 😂🤣

Jack will be staying with me to be a new breeder. He just needed a little attitude adjustment ….he’s beautiful!! ❤️🥰😍

Just another day on the Farm!

It’s been a hard week dealing with Fowl Pox. Everyone was vaccinated Thursday! Any baby that had visible signs has been quarantined along with Coops cleaned out, Vitamin/Electrolytes given and med applied to dry out pox. For now on, every July ALL babies will be vaccinated…I will NOT go through this again if I can help it! Dry Pox not such a big deal …Wet Pox - ridiculous 😢😩 I enjoy moments like these when it’s been a hard day/week on the Farm ❤️
