Update: Michael is now crate trained!

I believe it was 2022 when a momma dog and her puppies were found by the staff of a local vet clinic one morning. The pups were found homes, but one pup -Michael- was returned. “He can’t be potty trained,” the adopter claimed. And so, Michael proceeded to spend the better part of 2 years confined to a kennel in the back. A bored puppy, he chewed the blankets the staff had provided, so they were removed for his safety. With little to do and only 2 short outings a day, Michael took to playing with his bowl. When that wasn’t stimulating enough, he began rolling in his p**p. This served to further isolate the dog, who was seldom offered affection given his foul smell. Over time, Michael simply became a cleaning task.
It was 2024 when the new kennel worker brought Michael home and gave him a chance. After a good scrub and some dental chews, he was much easier to love on. A whole new world opened up for Michael. He had dog friends, toys, sticks, a yard, and a handful of humans to scratch his lonely, but now wiggly body.
Michael is looking for a special family; one who understands that to him, everything is a toy. After being deprived of his puppyhood, he’s making up for lost time. He is a happy go lucky guy. He no longer shows interest in p**p and has done a remarkable job with potty-training. He lives to play. He enjoys the company of other dogs as well as humans. He loves being outside. He doesn’t mind the rain and doesn’t mind getting dirty. He thrives on attention. As of this writing, no attempts have been made to crate him, as his foster family understands how valuable Michael’s freedom is to him.
