This video may not look like much, but the back story is a crazy one!
Sam is a 4yo gelding. He had a healthy yearling career, but then as a 2yo when we were prepping him to ride something didn't seem right. Turned out he needed bi-lateral fetlock OCD removal surgery. A year after that, he was given his 3 yo year off as his owners started their family! Come his 4 yo year, again before coming back to start again under saddle, he had a freak pasture accident on his right hind leg, and the vets said he may never be able to ride. After months and months of healing, Sam was brought back to us for 3 months of physical therapy in hand, and when we felt ready slowly put him under saddle. This is his owner for the first time trotting him around the arena! All good things take time and patience! 🙏 Thank you Natalie for trusting us with his rehab and the start of his riding again! #horsetraining #equinerehabilitation #equinerehab #physicaltherapy #aqha #vsflatline

2017 17hh ApHC Mare
This is an all-around prospect deluxe! ✨️ "Billie" is a barn favorite! She is sweet as can be and is easy to work with.
Billie is green but will excel very quickly in the right hands. She wants to be naturally slow and low headed and is a push ride. With a little work on her pivot she will also be a finished Showmanship horse. She has been successfully shown in showmanship and halter classes.
Billie has 2 ROMS and was 2x Yearling Champion plus multiple top 5s at Color Breed Congress.
Billie has also been genetically/color tested for use as a future broodmare.
This mare is going to make somebody a fabulous show horse, and will surely stand out in the pen!

HANDLE YOUR COLTS!!
Just a quick clip of me grooming Oakley & being up in his personal space while eating. While normally I give them their space during grain time, you SHOULD be able to pick up their feet, groom them, etc while they are eating!! Lord knows during show mornings sometimes we have to fix bands or groom while they are eating. I have a busy lesson day today so the only time I had for a quick groom was while he was eating!
Now I have certainly known some mares that this is not possible with...but colts should be started as early as possible, even if they are going to be gelded. I've seen too many yearling colts that sat in the field for too long and next thing you know, you have an aggressive or disrespectful youngster.
I also believe they can be over handled. I don't want them to be dull or lose their curiosity, but they need to be handled enough to grow into respectful adults!
Some people have said they are scared or don't know where to start. Start with haltering and leading, and hire a professional to help if needed. The rest comes pretty naturally, you just take your time teaching them to relax while handling their legs, brushing, standing, etc and the rest follows! I love the youngsters because of their curious minds, and once you gain their trust you can teach them so many things fairly quickly!
His color has changed so much we can't keep up with it!
We have to do a color change on his papers - we're thinking we have a bay roan! He still has a dun stripe and he's shedding into a beautiful full bodied silver 🤍
Our goal for him this summer is some Halter and In-Hand trail classes. Hopefully he will make his debut in May! 🫶
