Now that the official word is out, we want to introduce Zuzu who came to us last Sunday via a middle person. Zuzu is a sick girl. She was purchased from a well known flipper with several aliases in Wood County. Several of her aliases are used to flip dogs, puppies and kittens on various community pages around and in Toledo, Ohio. Her name is Josten Brown and she runs at least one page that we know of and, changes the admin names frequently. Blocks buyers after she sells or, denies any illnesses. Several people have reported deaths and sickness same day as purchase. Zuzu was supposed to be 5 weeks pregnant. Not only was this a concern for us but, for her. We know there are bad people who seek to profit off the misfortune of animals and others. This baby didn’t deserve to be in the hands of a known flipper, animal abuser and neglecter or, anyone else for nefarious reasons. To put it bluntly, she smelled like straight up dirty ass and, was soaking wet. She shook for hours along with continuously throwing up and having blood in her liquid f***s. She was transferred to our VP for immediate vet care. Needless to say, a thousand or so dollars later we still have no definitive answers so she is going in for a fasting X-ray/ultrasound tomorrow. We have ruled out Mega E, pyometra, bloodwork all within normal ranges, whip and tape worms were present and have been treated. No pregnancy thankfully! No vet records were provided with the transaction so she’s never had vet care. She had woodchips attached to her fur. After 3 baths she’s still stinky. She’s not crazy about dog dishes or, plates so she has been hand fed prescription ad along with anti-nausea meds and metronidazole out of precaution. One picture showed some unknown contents in her stomach so we want to see if they are still there at which point, that would most likely be considered a partial blockage and explain her inability to properly digest. We have no definitive answers yet but, we will keep seeking them out to provide the best care for her. Josten has reached out and threatened us with a lawyer. Don’t care.🤷🏻♀️ The truth is in the documentation along with eyewitness accountings with her for two dogs and, her vehicle the past week. She can deny and try to lie her way out of it but, this is the crap she does. It was confirmed the other night that she had puppies in her garage by her own family members. She sold a sick chi to another unsuspecting person 5 days ago and then blocked her from being able to contact her. The woman who bought the chi was then trying to rehome him yesterday. We reached out to see where she got him from and what do you know? Josten but using a fake name. This puppy has been having diarrhea and, we offered rescue but she has changed her mind. We haven’t heard back from her and, we hope the pup has seen a vet. Josten continues to message us threatening us with slander - go ahead. We are prepared to meet out those threats with statements and eyewitnesses. Josten drives an Orange Volkswagen with tinted windows and, we will not provide her current address but the humane agent has been contacted. What he chooses to do with said info is on him. We however, will warn the public and continue to track her movements on FB. Please don’t buy a dog or, cat without vet records, seeing the conditions of the home and verifying who you are buying from. Josten claims to be a rescue and we can tell you, that couldn’t be further from the truth. A real rescue is registered with the IRS via 501c3, USDA licensed, can provide you with detailed history of each and every dog, vet records, public posting via way of FB or, an .org page. They will have you fill out an adoption application, phone interviews, in person or, virtual home visit, check your vet records and, you out thoroughly. They will spay/neuter, fully vaccinate, do bloodwork testing, fix all health issues and be able to provide information about history of animal. A real breeder if you go that route will have detailed records for any dog you are interested in purchasing along with health testing, vet records, a contract, a visit to their home where you typically can meet both parents of said animal. They are more vested in their dogs than you and, will guarantee health and a return to them if it doesn’t work out. They breed for the good lines, health, personality and rarely, they do not stand to make a dime off your purchase because they’ve put that much time and financial effort into producing a purebred dog. Please wake up to these facts and, educate yourself on who you are purchasing an animal from. Meeting someone at a gas station is not on the up and up. These online and Facebook groups advertising dogs for rehoming should be a big clue. Granted some dogs are actually being rehomed but look at the fee. Are you getting a history of vetting? Are you going to their home? Are you able to take your dog to their home for a meet and greet? Can they provide up to date vaccines and prevention records. Check out their personal FB pages. If it looks sketchy, IT IS! The post below this one details Josten Brown further. We don’t care what she tells you, she is in fact a puppy flipper. She’s been on a do not adopt list for years for neglect and abuse. We’ve found out so much about her in just a matter of days it’s actually sickening. Her own family knows and she lies to them as she continues to deny to us that she is all these aliases and, probably more that we haven’t discovered yet. What’s sad is, she sells these sick animals to unsuspecting people who could barely afford to buy them in the first place and then, they end up having a sick animal they can’t afford to vet.

Josten is around 6 foot, strawberry blond hair, sometimes worn short-long, sometimes curly, sometimes slightly straight, wears glasses but sometimes doesn’t, medium build, tattoos on her legs, arms and most distinctly her fingers.
