Due to the hot weather conditions at Cynbazu Dog Sports outside ring, I have decided to cancel classes on Monday and Tuesday. I will notify my students, but I wanted to give all parties involved advance notice in case they want to make plans.

What a weekend! We had two grueling hot and sunny days playing disc and then one rainy muggy day. All in all an amazing success.

Thanks Lynn Mitchell our judge for the weekend, it's always great fun to have you judging the field! Shout out to Sam Flint for coming to help run the board and generally help out but also sticking around to pack us up! It was greatly appreciated!!

Huge shout out to all the great competitors who came and tried out disc for the first time from the Conewango Valley Kennel Club dog show. Bigger shout out to the regulars who came to the show just to play disc as well! Fun was had by all and we might have a few new disc doggers in WNY now ☺️.

I think the next event should be a throwing clinic, what say you competitors??

New starting in April, the fourth Tuesday of every month will be a "Search Day". All proceeds benefit the Conewango Valley Kennel Club. Rich Myers will be setting up 4 search areas - 1 Interior, 1 exterior, 1 container and 1 vehicles or buried hide (depending on requests). The areas will consist of 2-3 hides and can be any odor you wish to be able to find. It will be meant to simulate a trial like experience so no "training" will be given.

This will be the last online class that I'll be offering before the summer comes. I had a handful of people in the last 4-6 months asking for help that's related to commercial work, or skills that can be used as such so I figured to offer a class that may help you or someone you know! I have helped trained someone else's dogs for TV shows like DC Universe Titans (season 2), and trained my personal dogs for commercials, and photoshoots for Google, Fi Collar, Five & Below, Filo Mortage, Nemacolin Luxury Hotel and Resort, Sealy Mattress, and a few others. This class will be $150 for the 8 week session. I will release a turtorial video that is pre recorded each Wednesday starting April 17th. You can send your videos to me privately or in our private group and I will give feedback or follow up with another demo video to improve. You will have these videos to go at your own pace, but I will only continue to give feedback throughout this session and a week after the 8th class video was posted. Please e-mail Caitlynn at [email protected] to register a spot. I will only be taking limited spots for this class. payment will be via Venmo, Zelle, or Paypal.

The flyer shows the main focus points for what will be teaching in the class, If we have time to do more, we will certainly add more skills. These are just the basic skills that most clients need for the dog to perform during photoshoots, and video. There will always be other tasks that they may throw at you to teach for the job so teaching any tricks are always super useful. Some of these skills are also useful for sport/ obedience foundation, or a content creator with a dog account that does fun skits. I'm happy to answer any questions to see if this class will meet your needs, just shoot me a message!

***Please note, if you are perusing to put your dog in this type of work and setting, it is crucial that your dog is obedient, well managed in various settings, is human safe and neutral around people, has a decent stress-recovery, and good work ethic as being on-set can be a high stress environment for some dogs! If your dog is confident, obedient, and loves to work this can be a very rewarding job for both of you to experience. This class will not guarantee you jobs, but will help you be set up for sucess. After your dog has the basics, I can help you get in contact with a few companies that I enjoy working with and try to get you noticed.

Online Trick and Disc Classes starting January 22nd and 23rd!!!

*Disc Class is geared towards people who are beginner/ novice, this class you'll be learning the basic skills needed for UPDOG games, and to teach their dogs basic moves to get them started for freestyle. Please look at the flyer for the list of criteria you'll be learning during this session.

Please email Caitlynn at [email protected] to register, please specify which class you're interested in and tell me a little about your dog that you'll be doing the class with. You must pay via PayPal(through friends and family), Venmo, or Zelle to register your spot in the class. I will allow 10 students per class so I have time to give everyone feedback in a timely matter for each week.

The online classes are done in a private group on facebook. Once you register and send payment, I will add you to the group with your classmates. I will be posting all of the tutorial videos weekly for 6 to 8 weeks (depending on the class). You may send your videos via e-mail, or private message BUT, sharing your videos in the group is strongly encouraged, so you can watch others, and learn from others, and get their tips as well like you would in a real class setting! I will be giving feedback to each student once a week within 24 hrs after you post your video so, please try to group all your skill progress in one post.

The great thing about this online class, you will have access to these videos for all of 2024, so if you happen to forget or decide to train a specific skill that you didn't want to focus on during class, you're always welcome to look back at the videos. My feedback for your follow-up videos will be available from a week after the last tutorial video is shared for the session.

Don't get overwhelmed by all my tricks I've listed! I have options as not everyone is going to want a giant dog back stalling or rebounding off of them so there are alternative options for all teams! You're more than welcome to learn everything I share, but just know I don't expect everyone to teach all of these tricks on a weekly basis, one of the reasons why I keep this group page up for the entire year so you can go back as you please to learn more.

⭐️ once a week I’ll have a tutorial video of 3-4 different behaviors each week to work on. Will build criteria on behaviors and then add more.

⭐️ train at your own pace during the week and you’ll share videos of your progress, will give feedback and tips on how to improve.

⭐️ everyone in the class will be added into the group and sharing your tricks in the group is encouraged so you can also learn from others experience like you would at a class setting.

⭐️ you can always revisit the class tutorial videos any time even after the class is completed.

With tricks I can also offer AKC trick titles. Let me know what you’re interested in and I can come up with flyers and a start date!

Hello all you Up-Doggers. We were a bit short handed at the event as far as data entry goes so, we didn't have anyone to give point totals to the teams. Since we didn't have placements, it wasn't the biggest setback, but we did have a few people inquire as to what their results were. Here are the final results reported to UpDog. You should see these point totals reflected in your profiles in the coming days/weeks due to our event (barring me screwing anything up with the data entry sheets and needing to redo them).

Update: Added a tab for our try-it's. Please remember these aren't official scores submitted to updog so if you made a team they won't show up anywhere. Thought it would be fun for you to see how you did though.

Further Update: Feel free to review your updog records as well. Just got the email that the results were accepted and uploaded so they should all be there now!! So exciting to have our first real event closed and finalized. Thank you all again!!

Just a reminder as UPDOG is still very new to western NY, if your dog is still learning how to catch a flying disc, you have the option to play the games with all rollers as well!

A sincere and loving thank you to all the courageous and great competitors that came out to our first ever UpDog event. You all did so great out there trying a new thing in the area and also having fun with your dogs! I know it was a "walk up" style event with little organization and was almost completely day-of-show walk ups, but we somehow pulled it out of our hats and made it a success without causing havoc to the Conewango Valley Kennel Club fast cat event. With events like this there is very little planning you can actually do because it's just not a normal trial. The event is geared toward getting people interested and hooked on playing.

A very special thanks to our Photographer, Demo dog lady extrodinaire, line judge, timer and face of the club (sometimes all at the same time while putting up with the judges attitude) Caitlynn Dick. She pulled off some amazing things this weekend and we literally wouldn't have done this without her. She sort of owns the business after all. (and this is not her writing that 😂).

A special thanks to Taylor Hayes, Samantha Flint, and Charlie ( Jasmine Griffin ) for helping to do various things throughout the weekend to keep us sane.

Very special shout-out to Louise Bobr Andrews for being at our judges very first assignment and giving encouraging but needed feedback, answering questions, stepping in and getting people interested and signed up, and back up judging so we could all have fun and run dogs.

We really wouldn't have had as much fun this weekend without you all, and if wouldn't have been the success it was!

Again a million thank yous are issued. Now off to plan the first real trial that is just UpDog. Did I mention we have a Howl-O-Ween Disc Dog Pumpkin Toss coming up? If you had fun this weekend come do it again. We'd love to have you!!

I'll be offering a class for the Conewango Valley Kennel Club!

New class starting on June 6th!

It was originally going to start this upcoming Tuesday but I want to add another week to gain interest so I apologize any inconvenience. Will also be doing 6 weeks instead of 5, so you can get all the requirements to earn your AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY!

This is a Versatility Puppy Class meaning will be working on various type of things that will help your puppy learn many skills like puppy friendly agility equipment, building confidence, engagement, rat intros for barn hunt, scent games, tricks, manners and obedience.

Start date is TUESDAY, JUNE 6th @ 6PM at the Den Adelman's Klub in Gerry, NY.
$150 for the 6 week session.
$135 if you're a CVKC member

NEW ONLINE CLASSES are starting up on April 10th!
Pet / Basic Obedience -skills for the outside world and Intermediate / Advance Trick Class will both be a 6 week course for $100.
Every Monday I will release video of the lesson, showing tutorials of each skill and encouraging you to practice a few times a week. You are allowed to post your training videos for feed back ONCE a week. I can give you apps to use on your phone that is user friendly for easy editing if needed. Deadline for sign-up will be April 9th. I will not be taking late sign ups.

I am limiting to 6 students per class. Please E-mail to [email protected] with which class you're interested in. Please include your dogs name, breed, and age. Once I get your email I will give you additional information. Once you send payment to paypal, and I receive your payment, you have a reserved spot in the class and then you'll be added to a facebook group for easy viewing and sharing!

If you prefer, you are welcome to send me your videos in private but its been encouraged to share so all the students can learn from each other. Please PM me if you have any questions or concerns!

We're offering a Canine Good Citizen prep class next week, on Feb 28th at 6pm at the Den Adelsman's Klub on Tuesdays.

The prep class will be 6 week course, with the CGC test on week 6.
This is a prep course, so when you sign up, we expect the dog knowing the basics like sit, down, stay, come. We will be focusing on proofing these behaviors and fading reinforcements so you're able to pass the test with flying colors!

This CGC PREP course will be $115 for non-members (Test included).
If you're a CVKC member, you get the discounted price of $100 (test included).
