Check out these tips for a better walk in honor of !

Change it up: Walking the same route everyday can be boring for you both. When you are able, look for a new route or try doing your usual walk in reverse.
Vary Your Pace: Speed it up to a power walk to get their heart pumping, and slow it down to a meander to let them take in all of the sights and smells.
Invite a Friend: Walk with another doggy-owner duo, offer to take a friend or family members dog, or ask another human to join your walk. Variety is the spice of life!
Add A Challenge: Stop to practice commands or hide a toy or treat to find during your walk - it's fun and exciting.

A message for our dear Facebook friends: Dr. Gallagher and his wife Kaethe are excited to have been approved as long-term fieldworkers with CVM (Christian Veterinary Missions). This has been a long-time dream for them since their first mission trip in 2010 and they anticipate moving to Honduras in 2025 to establish a much-needed veterinary clinic in the town. In an effort to prepare for the trip and continue providing care to clients, they have made the decision to merge Northwoods Veterinary Clinic with Pulaski Veterinary Clinic starting 2/28/2023. We are confident that you will find the same level of comfort and knowledge at this facility. We are honored to have been entrusted with the care of your beloved pets and we look forward to continuing to serve you and care for
your pets at Pulaski Veterinary Clinic!

While you were getting all of the smooches and cuddles with your sweet pet yesterday, did you notice any stinky smells coming from their mouth? Stinky breath is often the first indicator that something could be up with their chompers.

It can be hard to determine what stage of dental disease your pet is in simply by having them open wide and say 'ah', which is why a more thorough oral exam from us may be necessary.

Let's make an appointment to look at those teeth!

Spaying and neutering your non-breeding pet is not just about ensuring you don't wind up with an unplanned litter! Behavioral issues such as mounting, marking, aggression, and roaming can also be reduced, or even eliminated through this procedure. Pets who are 'fixed' also have a reduction in some health risks such as certain cancers.

Every pet is a unique individual, so let's discuss your options and the appropriate age for your pet to be spayed or neutered at your next appointment!

Happy !

Did you know that February is designated as ? There is a common misconception that cats are less in need of medical care and very self sufficient - you know, the whole 9 lives thing! In reality, cats are just REALLY good at hiding problems like illness, pain, and injury.

Regular and consistent veterinary care is the key to cracking your cats' code! Seeing your kitty regularly helps us establish a baseline of what is normal for your cat. This baseline helps us detect subtle changes down the road that could indicate a health problem, making treatment, recovery, and the road back to good health much more smooth.

If your cat is due or overdue for an exam, let's make an appointment!

We often get clients in who have given their pets some kind of medication whether pain reliever or a leftover antibiotic or something else. Then they call us. This always complicates things when the doctor then wants to prescribe an appropriate medication. If your pet is in pain or is experiencing discomfort of some type, please call BEFORE you give any medication. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Is it okay to give your dog or cat human pain meds? Our veterinarian explains why it's dangerous to give your pet medications without consulting your vet.

Not all peanut butters are alike! In fact, these peanut butters are PERILOUS! In honor of , we found some examples of peanut butters that can be deadly to pets.

Always check the ingredients list before treating your pet with a little peanut buttery goodness. If the ingredients list mentions xylitol, birch sugar, or birch syrup keep it far away from your pooch and kitty or out of your pet friendly house entirely. Blended nut butters that can include macadamia nuts are also toxic to pets.

If your pet enjoys an occasional bite of peanut butter, look for one with minimal ingredients (such as a Natural peanut butter, which will contain just peanuts and a pinch of salt) or one that is specifically made for pets!
