Our next generation of mamas 💞

Kava is Savvy’s daughter. She’s a traditional tricolor and about 55% Bernese. She is sweet and cuddly with lower energy and drive. She has cobbier structure like a Bernese.

Beezie is Maeve’s daughter. She is a gorgeous shaded sable and about 27% Bernese. She’s leaner and sporty, loves playing fetch, but also loves to snuggle on the couch.

These girls were chosen to stay in our program because they embody the best traits of their moms. They will continue to undergo health testing and if they pass, they’ll start their careers in late 2025 or early 2026. I plan to continue to produce a small number of high quality litters per year and am excited about the future of the program!

We’re officially on puppy watch! 🐣

Mama Ember is here to have her puppies! She is pregnant with F1b Bernedoodles sired by Harvey. We’re expecting tricolors, phantoms, and sables in black and brown 🤩

Her due date is Aug 7th, but she whelped 2 days early last time, so we’ll see if she’ll hold out!

Hoping for a smooth delivery and lots of healthy babies! 🤞🏻

Kava (FKA Curry) is sugary sweet and affectionate. She is goofy, playful, but also able to chill! At 14 weeks, she’s already started on potty training, sleeping in a crate through the night, and learning basic obedience.

NFS, but accepting apps for guardianship! Must live in the Phoenix metropolitan area!

Why do some sable bernedoodles look so different? 🤔

Can you believe ALL of these dogs are sable and they even have the same sable mom!? 🤯

There can be huge variation in the amount of darker shading (aka eumelanin) in sables which results in range of sable expression. Some sables appear predominantly tan with just a few dark hairs over the ears, while others have so much dark shading that they almost appears tricolor. I refer to the latter as “heavily shaded”. 🖤 🩶 🤎

Sable expression is also impacted by red intensity (aka pheomelanin)! A dog with higher red intensity is going to have an overall more reddish undertone while a sable with lighter red intensity will appear more cream or tan in areas without shading. ❤️ 🧡 💛

In general, sables tend to change in appearance from birth to adulthood. The majority of them will be lighter and less shaded as adults. This can also be impacted by fading/greying genes from the poodle side! 🐩

There are currently no genetic tests that can RELIABLY predict shading, pheomelanin intensity, or greying, but laboratories including Embark and UC Davis are getting closer! 🧬

For the genetics nerds… All of these dogs test ayat and range from 6-8/10 red intensity according to embark. Via UC Davis they test ASIP(SY)/ASIP(BB1).

Our next generation of sable bernedoodles are due in August! 🫶🏻

Sometimes people worry that the last couple of puppies are in some way “inferior”. I’ve come to find that sometimes my FAVORITE puppy ends up being one of the last ones chosen. This is simply because different people are looking for different things. Some people gravitate towards a specific color, coat type, size, or temperament trait.

I LOVE this puppy! She melts me with her puppy dog eyes! She’s one of the calmer pups from this litter. Her temperament reminds me so much of a Berner! She likes to have a good time, but is already an expert at naps and splooting on the tile. She has square features, gorgeous structure, and a plush, fully furnished, wavy coat. If I was looking for a pet to keep from this litter she would’ve 💯 been my pick!

20 pounds of pure love! Schnitzel is sugary sweet, sensitive, with just a dash of sass that’ll keep you laughing! He’s on the lower side of medium energy and happy to chill on the cool floor after a short play session.

I love this dog. It took me so long to find her, but then she ended up exceeding all of my very high expectations. She passed her health testing with flying colors and has the most incredible temperament. IMO She’s the type of dog that the world needs more of! Her value is in no way diminished by the fact that she’s not a purebred. She exemplifies many of the best traits of each breed that went into creating her, the golden retriever and the Bernese mountain dog. ✨

My heart aches a bit knowing this is her one and only litter, but I am also SO GRATEFUL that she blessed me with these ten perfect heart healers. I will be keeping a male and a female to carry her legacy forward in my program. Vegas will happily retire with the family she already knows and loves, her guardians. Her guardian mama is truly the best and I am so grateful for all of the ways she has supported us both in this journey. 💕

Savvy is officially off mom duty! Her Bernedoodle pups are completely weaned and most of them are already thriving in their new homes! 🫶🏻

Chili is an incredible pup! She’s the type of pup that I would keep for myself. Lovely middle of the road temperament, easy going, & super affectionate. She especially loves chest rubs!

She’d do well with pretty much any family including one with kiddos or other pets!

She takes after the Bernese in that she’s thicker b***d and has a more square muzzle. Her wavy coat is fluffy, thick, and lowest shedding possible!
