Bittersweet pupdate 😢🥹

We had a tough day today but are very grateful to have a healthy mama and 6 perfect pups.

Just a couple more sleeps til babies arrive! ✨

Half sisters, Jemma and Terra, are due with litters within a day of each other! Based on progesterone testing, I’m guessing Tuesday and Wednesday, but we start puppy watch this weekend just in case! Their maternity suites and whelping carts are prepped and ready!

I can’t friggin wait to see these cuties IRL! 🤩

I am really hoping they don’t decide to whelp at the exact same time though 😵‍💫🫠😬

Any guesses on puppy counts?! First x-ray is Jemma and the second is Terra! 💕

Only one week til our phantom GOLDENDOODLES arrive!! 🥳

I’ve been looking forward to pups from Terra for a long time and I couldn’t be happier with the beau we chose for her. These goldendoodles are going to be dreamy! Gorgeous, loving, loyal, gregarious, affectionate, smart, eager to please… I could go on forever!

Mamas and papas don’t get any better than this either. Both Terra and Indy have phenomenal temperaments and are health tested above CHIC minimums for their breeds. Links to their OFA results are posted on the litter page. They both have final scores for testing as well. Not just preliminary OFA scores!

Interest in this litter has definitely been lower than our other litter because of color and breed. Goldendoodles are classically thought to be apricot, red, or cream. Due to her genetics, Terra just doesn’t have the ability to produce those colors. When combined with Indy’s color genetics we will get all black and tan phantom colored pups with minimal amounts of white. Families should be prepared for everyone to ask “is that a bernedoodle?” when they’re out in public. 😂

This is also the first (and maybe only) goldendoodle litter we’ve ever made. I plan to keep two of these incredible pups to be a part of our program to contribute a little more of that classic ✨golden ✨ temperament to our golden mountain doodles! This litter has been thoughtfully planned not only to produce incredible pets, but also to positively contribute exceptional genetics to future generations of our doodles! 🥇

Willow & Tatum passed OFA eyes yesterday! 👏🏻

OFA eye exams are performed by board certified veterinary ophthalmologists! They examine all parts of the eyes including the cornea, iris, pupil, lens, and retina. Eyes are a super complex and sophisticated organ. Congenital abnormalities are a concern, but it’s also important to continue to examine the eyes every 1 to 2 years to make sure things like cataracts or retinal degeneration don’t pop up! Eye diseases are often (not always) hereditary!

Vision and eye comfort is very important for a dog’s quality of life so make sure that your breeder is having OFA eyes performed on every breeding dog! It’s often one of the health tests that it skipped because it can’t be performed by their regular veterinarian.
