Our specialty services include: Emergency/Critical Care Oncology Surgery Dermatology Dentistry/Oral Surgery Imaging The Animal Emergency Center was founded in 1977 as an overnight emergency clinic and was one of the first two dedicated emergency cetners in the United States. In 1984, it became one of the nation's first 24-hour emergency and critical care referral centers. The Center was originally located in a house on Appleton Avenue and moved to the Silver Spring location in Glendale in 1999. The building won an award from Veterinary Economics in 2000. The Center can boast of training >20 veterinarians to become board certified specialists in small animal emergency and critical care. Our critical care specialists write the textbooks and create the protocols used worldwide in the veterinary emergency and critical care community. Though we are often imitated - we are Never duplicated!
