Spike is an absolute gem! He has such a sweet nature and love for attention that makes him irresistible. He gladly gives lots of kisses and snuggles and if you allow him to, he will climb up on your lap and shower you with affection. Spike enjoys toys and going on walks, and would be an ideal buddy for outdoor adventures. He is a smart boy too and has great manners, he sits on command and he is gentle taking treats. Spike has a medium energy level that seems to strike a perfect balance between being active and calm. His playful nature, coupled with his friendliness towards everyone he meets, makes him a favorite among volunteers and potential adopters alike. With his friendly personality and good behavior, it's surprising why Spike hasn't found his forever home yet. He is the type of dog that would bring endless love and happiness to any household. If you would like to meet Spike, visit him at the Westside shelter.

Tate is very sad because he was dumped by his family because his mama is pregnant with another litter of pit bulls in Las Cruces!! He misses his kids! Great with dogs and children. Stumpy legged, beautiful boy!!

The good news and the bad news! ļæ¼ when I finished my heartworm treatment they did the test and I still tested positive and they told me to come back in January for another test. This was scary for mom and grandma because I had already been through so much, but yesterday my heartworm test came back negative. Yahoo! However, when I was doing zoomies with the neighbor Dog against the fence, I broke my nail down to the quick so now Iā€™ve got to keep a baggie on my foot for a week and Iā€™m being very melodramatic about it.

Our Story

Hi! My name is Sugar. I came from a high kill shelter in Gallup, New Mexico where they donā€™t adopt out pitbulls. I was tied to a post full of milk and my puppies were nowhere to be found. I had no food or water. Now Iā€™m almost 10 and I have lumps that are thought to be mast cell cancer. I need surgery. I hope you can help. NM Animal Foster Network is a foster -based no kill rescue, not an open admission animal shelter. Our animals have been pulled from death row at rural high kill shelters.
