One of our boys from the Nena x Kuro litter has returned due to the ill health of his owner. We will be doing some evaluation/training with him and deciding what his future will be. Will keep people posted. Bunny (Yama) is just four months old.

My recent post is not designed to shame or humiliate. I get tired and lose my s**t sometimes. Not everyone understands protocols. I certainly didn't when I first started approaching breeders. We are all learning, developing and growing and then we die.

Okay. Must be time for a rant. Hello Kennel is not a puppy vending machine. We breed for preservation and select homes. My 2025 litter is not till next spring. I do not have a wait list, as I want to find the right fit for my dogs. This takes time and getting to know prospective owners. .
I will not resume breeding for two years and that is not a sure thing. I don't have red brindles laying around. I am happy to speak with people about the breed. If you reach out, have the courtesy to introduce yourself and not just ask for a puppy. The Kai Ken breeders know one another and are very protective of their dogs.
I've said it before, dogs are not commodities.

There is a two year old , female, rescue Kai being fostered on the East coast. If you are interested, please PM me for more information. Correction. We are waiting on DNA testing to determine if this girl is a Kai Ken but she is clearly some kind of Asian primitive breed.

Puppies are almost seven weeks old.

We are in puppy hell, just like our owners. Reiko is 11 weeks today. She has razor sharp teeth and boundless energy. Intelligent and affectionate but extremely driven. She is already a hunter by nature. I had forgotten how intense these puppies are. Her recall is phenomenal. The wheels are always turning in her brain. A sponge for learning.Very much a small Kai dog in miniature. She walks well on leash and goes outside to potty. Sleeps from nine to five or six. Not particularly destructive but bitey as hell. Bitter apple on our ankles.

As stated previously, we may do a breeding in the Fall but that wait list is full. Then we will be on hiatus for a couple years. I am happy to speak with people about the breed and refer to other breeders.

All our puppies are in their new homes. Ishi now named Reiko will be staying with Hello Kennel. We may do a breeding in the Fall and then will be on pause for two years.

Our last girl has been placed. Thank you for all your inquiries. Finding the right home for a puppy is a challenge but ultimately very satisfying. We want to stay in touch with our owners and follow the progress of our dogs throughout their lives.
