Dr. Ben is examining Nick, a very sweet 15-year-old senior dog. Nick has nuclear sclerosis (also known as lenticular sclerosis), which is a transparent haze that forms in the lens of the eye as dogs reach middle age or become seniors. This condition is regarded as a normal aging-related change in the lens and appears as a cloudiness or bluish tint on the pupil.

Dogs diagnosed with nuclear sclerosis typically do not experience significant changes in their vision. This condition differs from cataracts. Cataracts are white and opaque and represent a change in the ability of light to pe*****te to the retina. Cataracts lead to diminished vision, whereas nuclear sclerosis does not.

Thankfully, Nick is doing just fine, and Dr. Ben is keeping a watchful eye on any changes. This allows us to give this senior pup the best care and all the love he deserves!

Golden Paws Mobile Vet service made a home visit to Nick, a sweet senior dog, whose owner wanted the convenience of a house call. Nick was comfortably examined in our mobile truck, where he received his necessary vaccines, a nail trim, and a thorough ear check for an itch that had been bothering him. His owner was very happy with the convenience of our services right at her doorstep! The mobile truck even caught the attention of curious neighbors, who are now eager to book their own appointments with us. 💛 🐾
