We added another member to the program today! Shining star Marvel is here with us for just a short two-week program, but I can assure you we will get the job done in no time! She showed great potential today on her first day and I’m excited to work with her and learn how she responds to things! Stay tuned for this girl, you won’t want to miss it!

Look who’s back in town! Cash man ready to finish his remaining 30 days with us! He was here last year for his obedience and collar conditioning. Now he’s back to finish our gun dog program.

Stay tuned for updated pictures and videos of this guy. He’s going to be a ball of energy with drive and will definitely be a head turner and looker!!

Got Ozzy some work in with the big girls today. Aria and Maeve are helping be decoys today and distractions for Ozzy so we can work on obedience but with confidence and calmness. Ozzy is by far from a bad dog but he tends to be a little defensive and reactive so we are working on staying steady, patient, and quiet. Soon he will be fully capable of handling any task with assertiveness and putting his best efforts moving forward. He will become a lot more of a joy to be around and handle once we have built a better relationship and understanding of how to just BE. Stay tuned for more Ozzy updates!

It’s always a blessing being able to work with such fine animals and build such an amazing connection and relationship. Once the foundation is laid and the building blocks are used carefully everything seems to fall into place. Sun is out and the pond is open. Pups are happy and having a good time! Did some water bumpers for them and as for a couple of them, with it being their first time (Apollo & Oakley) they did really well! Also did some obedience to wrap up the day. Happy Saturday!

Back to the basics, on the board with Yogi.

As does every male and most dogs go through the lock down stage where they try to become a brick wall and not walk with you. They may even bite and resist the lead as did Yogi. But eventually is just clicks and it makes sense. The more they resist the more pressure they cause. Once they follow and stay close in a heel, all the work starts! Proud of this young pups progress and excited to see where he goes from here!

Yogi 🐻 on the big ducks today..

Man does this dog have some natural ability. He has such a soft mouth and loves to hold things. He should fly through FF with ease. Already picking up doubles from piles and uses his nose so well. Thanks again to R2K Performance Lab's for adding such a beauty of a dog to our program. We are so excited to see where he goes and be able to utilize him for both upland and waterfowl!

Apollo and Oakley are making great progress over the last week and we are about half way through the FF. We love watching them grow day by day and not be a puppy anymore and grow into good hunting dogs! Its bittersweet!

Apollo and Oakley have had struggles recently to finish the retrieve and bring it back to the board. They like to play the “keep away game”. But today they were on point. We usually have to reel them in with a long line but I gave them another chance at it and they both pulled through today with some high praise. Another thing that can help through this process is getting them on the table and running them through FF, which we have been making very good progress with. The longer we have them, the more attached I get. But it will be a bittersweet moment when they go home and I’m so excited to see them achieve big things doing what they love!

Laying the foundation at 3mo old. This is the most fragile stage to get them used to feathers and the taste of bird in their mouth! 🐶Yogi🖤 This young man was a pup from R2K Performance Lab's last litter. Granger x Scout. These pups excel from upland to waterfowl, the water to land, and everything in between! We are excited to watch him progress over the next couple years with us as he will become a big part of our breeding program!

Not all days goes as planned. Some are worse than others. But today was one of those good, fun, and productive days. It takes a lot of patience to work with these dogs day in and out and sometimes not see any progress. It’s all based off what they are feeling that day, if they even feel like doing anything at all sometimes and that’s okay. Something to take from each day, and always learning. 🐶Donny🖤 Donny has been with us for just a little over a month now and with his obedience locked in, we are making the transition to focusing on finishing the program out with singles, doubles, triples, hand signals, hold conditioning, and lots of steadiness. He has made tremendous progress over the last few weeks with us and we look forward to continue working with him before he goes home in a few weeks. Owned by : Connor Swick
