Remember Miss ToTo? Well, she is on track for when she turns 2 to get the rest of her training! She is easier to catch, loves attention and all the rubs, and is learning to trust! She has been worked with getting desensitized and saddling and has come such a long way, already! We sure have fallen in love with her personality. This filly is going to go a long way in her career and we can’t wait to be her cheerleaders!
Our trainee, Studley, got to go on his first trip to Wranglers and he had a blast! Here is a short video of him enjoying is surroundings! Raylan got to take him on a walk the first night and I think I can say for both of them they enjoyed it🥰
Here again are Raymond and Amigo. Amigo is an older horse who hasn't been ridden in several years. With his age and him already having training several years back, it has been trial and error while working with Amigo.
He is a big boy and needs to understand to be still for any size rider to get in the saddle, along with a little bit of desensitizing.
**Please don't pay any mind to the dogs in the background. They sound rough, but we promise they were just playing!! They love running and rough playing in the fields just as much as we do!
Now follow along as Raymond works with Amigo. Watch the patience he has as he wants the horse to understand why he is taking the actions he is!
The beautiful sun was shining, the kids(AND adults) were questioning, and the horses were learning; this makes for a perfect weekend at the Ranch in our books!
Below is Raymond explaining the reasons for different bits, bosals, etc. Listen along as he says why he prefers certain bits for certain situations. We hope you all learn a little something from this, I get more informed daily!
The other weekend, the boys gave Cash and Kahn a job of rounding ToTo up into the round pen. This is Raymond on Cash.
Kahn is getting better and better each day!!
FINALLY! We got our TikTok page set up to do some fun videos but also informative ones too! Go follow us!
@StewartCHR!
This is baby ToTo at I think around 4 days old! This is her momma Coco now you can see where she gets her build and looks from!
Everyone meet TOTO!!! This is a yearling filly that is completely untouched and unhandled that came to us from a dear friend, Jeff Moore! We have anticipated this filly since she was born. Don’t worry she won’t be started under saddle until after age 2 but Jeff wanted Ray to start working with getting hands on her and starting some ground work and manners🙂
She has a bright future ahead of her in the cutting world and we are so excited to witness it. Stay tuned in for progress videos!
Raymond is introducing hisself on Studley our other trainee who came back for a refresher! He is turning into a fine horse!
We have the horses saddled for a purpose. Can anyone guess what we are having to do?🙂
Rays first time bareback on Studley with just a halter. This boy is just awesome all around!!
Part TWO of Cash getting saddled!
Yesterday, Ray worked Cash first! This is the first time he has been worked in the daylight no fault to anyone! Here is a video of Ray saddling Cash! This boy is super smart and once he trust you he is so willing to do anything for you! This part ONE!
Cash got all saddled up and Ray decided to give him a little space to see what he would do. Would he buck or would he walk off like he has done this before?
He walked and trotted like he has been saddled before!
The continuing of saddling Cash.
We have always had people come up to ray and ask him why he takes so long with ground work or to saddling a new trainee.
This is why.
This is Day 7 with working with Cash. Raymond wanted to make sure that Cash was completely ready for this part. He wanted to take the extra time and effort to let Cash know that he wanted to be friends and not a threat. Ray wants to become one with the horse. It’s absolutely amazing to watch him with this mustang, I can’t wait to see what they do by 30 days!
Raymond working slowly with Cash on getting him caught and haltering him. He also tries to explain why he does it slowly to his apprentice, DJ.
