When you get your 8 week old puppies, please keep these images in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Basically you’re reversing the fusing process by overexercising your pup. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.

When you're letting your puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint.

You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one.

Once grown you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once.

Poppyseed is in the arms of her Daddy. She was with us the longest and needed extra care with being so little. Our entire family was sad to see her go. She is definitely a special girl. A super cuddly and sweet puppy. Her new Mom sent me a letter. Just including the 2nd 1/2. This is why I breed. To bring happiness and mend broken hearts. Needless to say after I handed her off I sat in my car and bawled. I love that little dog so much but I know she is going on to an amazing home and has a big job to fulfill. Safe travels to Alaska my sweet Poppyseed. I can’t wait to hear about all of your adventures.

Little Poppyseed got her health certificate yesterday. This sweet little one is moving to Alaska in just a few more days. I’m really going to miss her. She is such a sweet and cuddly petite puppy. She may be little but she has a big job ahead of her. She will be training to be a Battle Buddy PTSD dog for a Veteran.

Take two for Ocean now Mila going home. 4 days after going home this sweet girl got very sick and needed emergency surgery. She came back here and had a Intussusception surgery done. She stayed while she recovered and got to reunite with her family tonight. So happy she is doing well and they are reunited. 🥰

Mama Eclair seems to be doing better. She’s taking excellent care of her puppies. She didn’t have a temperature this morning or afternoon. We will continue monitoring it closely. She is currently getting three injections a day and antibiotics twice a day. All of the puppies gained weight since yesterday. The tiny little girl is still doing great.
