When I (Tammy Friederich) decided to start Black Diamond Riding Ranch back in 2020, we were in the beginning stages of a pandemic. I really never imagined the business would thrive as it has. It was overwhelming at times, trying to keep up with the demand from the public, caring for the horses, being creative with new ideas, and keeping the scheduling in order. I never advertised, other than on fb, because we already struggled to keep up with our ever-growing customer base. We have met some of the most amazing people throughout the last few years! I can't even begin to describe how easy it is to connect and feel like family with people who love and appreciate horses. We have spent time in the saddle with those who have never even touched a horse, to seasoned riders who just wanted to take a fun trail ride on a horse other than their own. We have taken riders on our trails from age 2 up to 84, and what a ride it has been!
This business was started with a handful of my own personal horses, and I bought a few along the way. I have lost a couple of amazing horses due to age and health issues, and Zoe, age 25, and Reese, 30+, are being retired this year. They deserve an easy retirement and a good life, and that's exactly what they'll get. This brings me to the reason for this post.
I will not be open for trail rides in 2024. I need my spare time to work with a few of my horses who need more saddle time before allowing the public to ride them. My trail guides and I will put some miles on them this year and hopefully have them ready next year.
I have 8 gift certificates out there which I will honor. If you are holding a gift certificate, please reach out to me. We WILL hit the trails together, and I'm looking forward to it.
I refer many to Cook Forest Scenic Trail Rides, and there are also a few others out there offering lessons and trail rides (please feel free to put your info below so my customers can find you and learn what you offer).
I still have some pretty great horses here, and hopefully, with some help from my amazing guides (Tara, Jess and Lexi), we will be able to resume our crazy trail riding schedule in 2025. Until then, I'll keep you updated. Look for us in the Grampian parade this summer, and be sure to let us know you're there! Thank you all for the support and love you've given us. We truly appreciate you!
Please continue to follow us, as we plan to offer a night of family fun this summer at BDRR. Of course, the horses will be here for you to mingle with, along with a campfire, music, good food, good company and old fashioned family fun!
