We're currently in need of dry dog food donations 🐾 We can accept any brand of dog food as long as the first ingredient is meat.

Donations can be dropped off at our shelter located at 4375 N Washington St, Tuesday through Sunday, between 8 am and 5 pm. Your generosity ensures that we can continue providing essential care and supplies to our furry friends in need!

It's HOT! Just a few reminders to keep your pets safe during the heat.
1. Pavement heats up quickly. Check the temperature with your hand. If it's too hot for you to rest your hand on it, then it's too hot for paws. Pets can suffer burns and blisters from hot sidewalks.
2. Brachycephalic breeds have a very difficult time cooling themselves on the best of days. If you have a flat faced friend (think Pug, Bulldog, Frenchie, etc.), keep them inside during the warmest times of the day.
3. Exercise should be done during the early morning hours or very late in the evening when the sun is low in the sky and the air temperature is cooler. Most of our furry friends will play until they collapse, so it's up to you to protect them.
4. Keep your pets in the air conditioning with lots of cold water available. Short breaks outside to potty and then back indoors. If you have to be outside, keep them in the shade with lots of water and minimal exertion.

"Biggie" has gone missing & we are trying to get him home to his owner. Unfortunately, we just have a description of him being a black & white Chihuahua, who is neutered. He went missing early this morning in the area of Kelly Elementary/Schroeder Middle School in Grand Forks (32nd Ave So & Washington/Cherry St).

Pet parents will do many things in order to keep their beloved pets healthy and happy. Unfortunately, there are many household items that can be harmful to your pet. March 21-27 is National Pet Poison Prevention Week to focus on preventive care and spreading awareness of many common toxins. The Pet Poison Helpline contains information about common household toxins and is the recommended contact for any poisoning or toxin questions. The ASPCA website also has a toxic plant list. This video from the Pet Poison Helpline describes different types of lilies and the cautions regarding their proximity to cats & dogs.

Butters the cat helps us demonstrate how quick and gentle using oral cleansing wipes can be. The whole process can last under 20 seconds! Brushing teeth may not be an option for all pets, but there are many other products available that can help with similar mechanical functions. Remember: 10% off all dental products in the month of February!
