We have been raising Yorkies since 2000. We have AKC, and also European. My name is Kelly Hixon, we've bred Yorkies since 2000.
Our first Yorkie was Shadow, and we sure were lucky with her! We didn't really plan to breed, however we kept some of her puppies - Jazzy, Sweetie, Tango for adults. We have added many other adults, some through our breeding, some carefully purchased with excellent bloodlines. We take great care with our breeding line, making sure we try to keep our champion lines, but also the short cobby body,
baby doll faces, thick hair and wonderful dispositions. We also offer a health guarantee with our puppies as well as a little puppy kit for you. I don't ship the babies, but will hand carry them on the plane to deliver. It doesn't really cost that much more than shipping them does, and that way I know they are safe. Alani (CKC) and Quinn (AKC) have 3 -10 week old babies available. 2 are ready to go now and those are the black boy, and the parti girl. The tiny white boy is SOLD but can’t leave for a while yet as he’s just so small, although he is posted just to show him off. Happy 4th of July babies. Welcome to the world via c section by the amazing Dr Jen Lucas Summers and Hadley Wiemer, who both came in on their holiday off to take care of Chloe after a long hard labor! Dr Elizabeth came in to start her on call duty for the day right as they were getting started!
Alani had her 3 babies Friday by c section. All beautiful and healthy. They are just beautiful. Hoping there might be some blue eyes in there. 2 boys and 1 girl. The girl is the one with the black and white body. Then solid black boy, and the white boy is all white with just one little bit of black on him by his eye. Shout out to Dr Carla at Animal Medical Clinic for taking such good care of us…like always! Oh!!!……and Dr Missy Lemons lost her bet with me as she guessed 4. Love it!
Nikki (7 lb) and Louie (7 lb) have 5 Yorkie parti boys…4 weeks old Thursday. At least 2 are double blue eyed. CKC. I’ll have to ck them for the Merle gene. Will be vet checked and have shots at 8 weeks. They aren’t up gor sale yet or priced. I will know more in a week or 2 on adult sizing.
Anne picked up her TWO boys yesterday and they fit right in with her crew and are doing fantastic at her house!
SHARED INFO BUT VERY TRUE!
I am seeing so many scammer/adopters these days and know there are honest people in the group looking for their fur baby and price of pups can be a huge sticker shock. Which means scammers offer cheap prices to reel people in to scams. Please remember that today's cost has risen for vet care, food and whelping supplies. Reputable breeders aren’t going to skip important care to give a cheaper price.
But we understand that everyone has a budget. So I wanted to give some helpful tips to avoid being scammed. Even if you don’t get a pup from me feel free to message if you aren’t sure the person is legit. Here are some helpful tips
🚩 red flags
1. Links under other people posts, I bought my pup here links, links to Instagram and people randomly sending you messages without you asking for more info. I am getting those on every post I make of my available puppies.
2. Profile is new, less than a year only thing you can see is profile pic. Updates are usually fake events or shared posts.
3. If pup is 1 0 0 0 or less. Feel free to them ask what’s included in price. As a buyer you should be able to ask any questions related to the pup, upbringing, patents and care. Do know some could be cheaper because they are an older pup, mixed breed, one that has a flaw (hernia which can be fixed when neutered) or a rehoming pup. If the pup is cheap request to see mom and dad (unless a rehome) Cheap pups could mean puppy mill/puppy flipper. Don’t be a buyer who supports bad living condition, moms only used for breeding, stuck in wire cages stacked. You aren’t saving the pups you are condemning the parents.
4. Ask for pictures of the puppies and parents. Then Reverse image them! Most of these idiots use Pinterest photos. Also remember pictures can be years old. **Sometime the stud dad may belong to another breeder just FYI
6. Free delivery to your door. First do you want a stranger at your house? Second nothing is ever free. Gas and flights cost money. Saying they need 150 up front to fly the dog to you. I don’t know where your airport is but tickets aren’t that cheap.
8. We need the money to switch over owner ship. Most puppies come with are application papers for your to pay get their papers. You need the breeder's signature and the new buyer's signature. Hard to do if you aren’t there. Also, papers are usually 75 bucks.
10. Avoiding answering questions. If you have to ask numerous times the same questions that’s a red flag.
11. Ask for video chat. Just videos can be old or stolen. Video chat allows you to see parents, pups and the breeder. If they refused because they Don't know how (older breeders) then request references and their VET INFO for reference.
12. Run if they are pressuring you to send money, gift card or other strange money requests or make it sound like someone else is wanting the pup next. Good breeders won’t rush you; they want a successful adoption. On the flip side breeders can’t hold a pup for long while you decide and lose their sale.
13. Possibly but not always their location on fb doesn’t match where they say they are.
14. They don’t allow pick ups or meet where they are located at. However it’s not always a red flag, for breeders who don’t let you in their house should still do a video chat. Why they say no to house visits:
1. New strain of parvo killing quicker, and they don’t want to risk it
2. Covid and other germs
3. They don’t know you and you don’t know them - safer for both to meet in a public area. False adopters can scam or harm the Breeder by acting like they want to “pick out” their pup but actually are scoping out the place to come back and steal mom and litter.
4. 5. Sexual predators, some breeders are female no one wants strangers to know where they live.
5. There is nothing wrong for both parties wanting to be safe.
15. Last and only after you have done or discussed all the above info. Some breeders require deposit. Breeders get at least 5 people a day who say, “oh I want the pup” and never get back with them. I have actually driven to puppy drop off and they were a no show. I was out of gas and a pup's home. So, once you vetted them and you have no questions then send the deposit requested.
Chasing cheap prices will only you scammed and people with ridiculous prices with no papers, no vet checks and no genetic testing I would run from them as well. Do your homework and don’t fall for just a cute pic.
