Why I have cameras and do not post my address online.
So tragic and senseless. Watch for cheap Doberman puppies being listed for sale.

Paul Peavey, 57, was reported missing last Wednesday. His body was found Saturday morning by a group of concerned neighbors and friends in the 1000 block of Two Brothers Road near Idaho Springs.12 of his puppies were stolen along with anything of value.
Peavey was a long-time Idaho Springs resident and show breeder of Doberman dogs who also trained them for Therapy work. Everyone says he was a kind person who always had a smile on his face and loved his dogs dearly.

Listen this is why we breeders don't have visitors inside our homes anymore.
And why we have cameras and security all over, and most of us simply meet at the police station for our family's and dogs safety.

Such a tragic loss. This is so heartbreaking.

There is a suspect in custody already!

Bradley von Unique enjoyed his week long camping trip with a male Malinouis, female Mal, 2 Poodles and a Rat Terrier along with 3 horses and a 30 day old foal. No cell service at our 9000 ft elevation camp, but we did have service at 12,000 ft.

Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?

The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.

I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.

"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"

"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."

"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."

"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."

On D-Day, June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched a combined naval, air and land assault on Nazi-occupied France. The 'D' in D-Day stands simply for 'day' and the term was used to describe the first day of any large military operation.

Early on June 6th, Allied airborne forces parachuted into drop zones across northern France. Ground troops then landed across five assault beaches - Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword. By the end of the day, the Allies had established a foothold along the coast and could begin their advance into France.

The Allies utilized over 5,000 ships and landing craft to land more than 150,000 troops on the five beaches in Normandy. The landings marked the start of a long and costly campaign in northwest Europe, which ultimately convinced the German high command that defeat was inevitable.

Have you heard of the heroic parachuting dogs of D-Day?

On the eve of the Normandy invasion, three planes carrying the members of Britain's 13th Battalion took off for France. In addition to the 60 men aboard, each plane carried one dog.

In the case of the 13th Battalion, the dogs were trained to perform tasks such as locating mines, keeping watch, warning about enemies, and even serving as morale boosting mascots (indeed, dogs were also commissioned at US and British air bases for that sole purpose).

To acquire the dogs, the British War office asked people to "lend" their pets to the war effort. But given the dire situation in Britain at the time — think food rations — many people were happy to send their dogs away. And in fact, the facility became a virtual shelter owing to the large number of donations.

Paradogs were taught to get used to wartime conditions, like aircraft propellers and loud noises. They were also trained to identify the smell of explosives. The dogs proved to be useful, especially for locating mines and b***y traps. Regrettably, some of the dogs were victims, including one severely wounded on D-Day, and one who got separated from her battalion.

In the past 20 years, dogs of all breeds have been living shorter and shorter lives. Environmental toxins and kibble must be considered. Our Dobermans love these raised dog beds. The dog beds are nearly indestructible, even when our recently weaned puppies are learning to climb up onto them to sleep. I've had our 3 dog beds for years now and they all look like new.

TBT: In the closing days of 1941 Peggy Adamson, the young wife of a U.S. Marine Captain, ordered a new Doberman as a companion to her Doberman bitch Granda. A Christmas present, the puppy arrived a few weeks after Pearl Harbor Day and had nearly as explosive an effect on the Adamson household. He would be named Dictator von Glenhugel.

‘Tator was only shown 18 times, retiring after Peggy piloted him to Group 1 at Westminster in 1945. Peggy said that although Dictator enjoyed the show ring, she herself was nervous and uncomfortable. Nevertheless, the dog became the most famous Doberman of the 40’s. He was undefeated in Breed, and won 5 Bests in Show. Just as Ch. Ranch Dobe’s Storm would do in the 1950’s, Peggy would later write, Dictator “captured the imagination of the press, the adulation of the public and the admiration and respect of those in other breeds, including the judges.” This was so, but even though Dictator was a dog who at his best could probably hold his own in the breed ring today, Peggy’s unerring grasp of public relations, her attractiveness and her great intelligence were equally responsible for his popularity.

Dictator ‘worked’ for Dogs for Defense, epitomizing the perfect war dog recruit. It made the newspapers. He was hospitalized for a minor illness. His progeny were sent around the world. It made the newspapers. He won Best In Show. It made the newspaper. Peggy’s files hold many clippings extolling ‘Tator’s virtues. Always amiable, handsome and docile, Dictator changed the American public’s concept of Dobermans forever.
