If you know me, my mission, vision, values & goals for Red Dog then you will know that I started this business for 2 reasons:
1. To offer trustworthy, professional pet sitting & dog walking to my community so that people do not have to worry about who is taking care of their fur babies, whether they will show up, whether they will be there on time, not drunk, high or with friends. They don't have to worry about strangers entering their home, looking thru their stuff, or God forbid - stealing. They can live their lives, see their non-local friends & family, make memories, get that promotion or degree, work shift work, etc. without worrying about their beloved fur family.
2. I have had my careers - teacher, mother, leadership & management instructor, consultant & mentor, Intelligence Professional & more. Now I have the time & ability to mentor, uplift & give back.
We are by far not the cheapest pet sitter/dog walker in Aiken, especially for our premium services of staying in your home for our Overnight Slumber Party or our 24/7 Vacation Camp. We leave our own fur babies, loved ones, bed & comforts so that your pets aren't alone or have to go to kennel. We keep Red Dog small (no more than 5) because I have high standards. Onboarding with Red Dog isn't easy - there's lots of training, forms, background checks, & more that our pack members have to do once they have passed my interview process. Once they are on board they are provided a great wage, mileage, workmen's compensation, flexible schedules, tips, holiday pay, etc. They are also covered under our pet insurance & bonding. ALL of this is so that I can provide our clients with the BEST of care that meets my mission, vision, values & goals.
Now to the point of this very long post - this does not mean that I do not want those who cannot afford us to find like minded, trustworthy pet sitters/dog walkers & other pet professionals. If we do not fit your budget or cannot take you on as a client due to distance or inability to fit you in our busy schedule, I always offer a list of alternatives & ask that you reach back out to me if none of those I recommend have availability. I also personally get to know others in the various pet professions in Aiken to see if they are of similar mindset when it comes to the services they provide.
When I make a recommendation, it is my Red Dog name & reputation that I am putting on the line, therefore I like to know who I am recommending, be it thru using their services myself, meeting with the owners/operators, speaking with others who I trust that have used them, etc. I am not saying everyone on my list is perfect for everyone's situation - that is never the case. What I am saying is, these are people that I have come to know, trust & would recommend if we are not the right fit for you.
I want to raise the bar when it comes to available pet care in our community.
