Something as simple as flowers given to someone out of love can brighten their day. They will wake up the next morning seeing that small gesture you made and a smile will immediately fill their face. Day after day for the entire week or more, the bouquet will serve as a reminder that you thought of them, that you wanted to make them smile, that you sincerely love them whether it’s a spouse, a parent, a grandparent, an elderly neighbor, a child….you can’t go wrong with the gift of flowers.

I look forward to warmer days when it’s time to grow these joyful bouquets once again. Seeing the smile on your face as you pick up your flowers to give someone (or keep for yourself) makes my day that much sweeter🌻

Of course it’s raining today so I may or may not get the rest of the daffodils planted today. On the bright side, yesterday was a gorgeous day 😍

Isn’t she gorgeous??!! This was the first bloom off my dahlia plant this past fall 🤩. Dahlia tubers are a lot of work, but gosh, so worth the blooms they produce (I think😅)

Psalm 104:24 O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

See the large red zinnia in the middle? It randomly popped up in the field away from the rest. I didn’t even plant this type this year or last year! Zinnias don’t do the cold temperatures we have here in eastern Ky, so not sure if it was a random seed from this year or somehow the seed survived the winters from reseeding? This one beautiful plant did make me get online and order more seeds in lots of different colors for next year!

I plan on the U-Pick looking a lot different this coming year. If all goes as planned, I’ll have lots of new varieties, more colors, and more days of the week offered. I’m also planning a new location on my micro-farm specifically designated for guests to enjoy picking ❤️

This was my first year growing dahlias. Trying to save seed from a few varieties. We’ll see how it goes.

I’m already missing seeing the bees on the flowers and now the weather has snow in the forecast. 😩

Getting some yarrow and other perennials planted. So far, the yarrow is the only thing I’ve seen sprouted. The rudbeckia and cone flowers haven’t shown any signs yet. I have, however, gown lots of weeds in these holes.

Some of the last flowers from the field this year. As my first year of growing flowers has come to an end, I am already preparing for next year. Lots of seeds already ordered and more in my cart ready to be ordered.

Hanging these to dry. We’ll see how they turn out.

I’ve planted 486 tulips so far. I have a little more to go before I am finished. Complete honesty…I accidentally ordered more than I had planned. I got overly excited 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷‍♀️ This video is showing a part of them. Try not to get motion sick watching it because I was trying to act cool when I videoed it.

Starting a new journey! What am I thinking? Well, I have big plans this coming 2025 year: farm stand, U-Pick, CSA (flower subscriptions), workshops and more!

I’m really excited and hopeful that lots of you will be following along and participating in this journey with me ❤️ I’ll make mistakes. I’ll kill lots of flowers. I’ll start things that I may change halfway through or even decide to get rid of something altogether, but that’s part of the journey, isn’t it?

A new journey is just that…a journey. Come along with me and see what happens…
