Hey it’s me Dixie,

Hi everyone, I wanted to give you all an update on how I am doing. I have been with my foster parents for a while now. All of my puppies were adopted to good homes.

If you all remember I was rescued from a breeder when I was very pregnant. I gave birth in foster care. I was very protective of my babies, I had a lot of trouble trusting. I had a lot of issues to work through. I have come a long way since first being rescued.

When I first came, I didn’t know what outside was so, that was scary for me. I didn’t want to go out, my foster dad had to basically pick me up and carry me out. I just sat there frozen and didn’t want to move, I just wanted to go back to my safe place. Now, I love going outside. I walk around the yard; I lay on the porch. I am the first one out and the last one to come back inside. I will bark to let you know when I want out or when I am hungry. I am on a pretty set feeding schedule.

I do not hoard my food anymore. I know that I am always going to be fed and taken care of. I do like to have my Cheeto balls and Bil Jak with my meals. Oh, and if I am leaving my room while there is still food in my bowl, I like to have it covered up. Just so nobody else can eat it.

I am becoming more social. My fosters leave my bedroom door open for me when they are home so that I can join the family anywhere in the house. I play with my siblings without any issues. I also get along with the cats. I am even sleeping in my fosters room at night with all of my foster siblings.

Taking a bath is still an issue for me. This is getting easier, it will just take some time. I am pretty set in my ways. I like to have my meals at a certain time, and a certain way.

I think I am ready for my new furever home, to learn to trust and love my forever family. I still need some work with my new family. The perfect home for me will be a loving patient family that can work with me to love and trust and be comfortable in my new space. I don’t like fast movement or loud noises. I don’t think a home with little kiddo’s would be a good fit.

It’s hard to get the full picture by reading my story, I would love to meet you in person.

It's the kitties turn! That's right, sponsored kitties for adoption and a shout out to Result$ Realty LLC for making this happen!

Meet Veno, an all black kitty with a puff of white on his chest, neutered male, estimated to be 2-3 years old, caught in a trap but was friendly as all get out. Super loving and wants your attention to pet. Fully vetted and ready for his new loving home.

Meet Blue, a white and black neutered cat, estimated 2-3 years old, found in the 3700 block of Meadowlark about a month ago. A little shy and timid, but friendly.

ADOPTED! And finally, meet Callie, a dilute calico, spayed, estimated to be 1-2 years old, surrendered to the shelter. Just a sweet as can be, loves people of all ages and definitely would make a great lap kitty!

Come meet all our kitties and give them a loving home they all deserve!

This purrrdy kitty was found around Riley elementary school with an injured leg this week. Animal Control picked up and brought to shelter for evaluation and found the injury was way worse than expected. Off to the vet she went and found the leg was barely attached.

Poor girl, the severe injury required amputation of her leg. Good news! She’s recovering in foster care, getting around just fine on 3 legs.

She is one of hundreds of animals our Adopt A Pet squad is able to help over the years with donations from followers like you. Without the additional funds, none of our work is possible in providing additional medical care for these animals.

Please, consider donating to help keep homeless pets to becoming healthy and adoptable. You make a difference in the animals lives and they return the favor with lots of ours, nose bumps, leg rubs and silly behavior.

Please don’t leave your dogs unattended at the dog park! They could get into fights with other dogs, be stolen, get out of the fence or worse!

There are rules posted for a reason, and now, these two are at the shelter. I’m sure they miss their family!

These two are now safe at the shelter. Does anyone know who they belong to? Seems they have been running at large a couple days with a couple posts about them and no response from an owner. Hoping they weren't let go because they weren't wanted anymore!

💥🐾SOME EXCITING HAPPY TAILS TO SHARE! 🐾💥

200 days she’s spent in our care, Miss BAILEE left today to join her sister and new loving family! She’s the brindle dog we had to set a live trap at the shelter to catch Thanksgiving in 2023. Minus a tail, she’s one of the most sweetest loving and loyal dog you could ask for!

FRECKLES landed his new loving forever home today after 42 days in care! The white speckled dog with the adoption fee sponsored by GB Tarp Company will be one of the most spoiled pup as he gets to go to work with dad! And, he gets to okay with another dog there that was also adopted from us a few years ago.

Miss MEIKA Siamese if you please kitty, one from the Reno County Case, left for new forever home after 55 days in care! Of course she’s just as sassy as what you think and she’s definitely gonna rule the roost!

Then there’s LARRY! 32 days in care and he went to his forever home this past Thursday.

Lots of smiles, happy tails and very happy to see all these shelter pets finally get what they so deserve.

We have so much canned DOG that we are organizing today and pulling out cases that need new homes. Most all of this food was donated by Chewy and set aside for community owned pets! ❤️

Looks like they will be getting a new home where someone will absolutely take care of them. They love their swimming pool at the shelter and will definitely need one at new home.
