Progress with #hopteamwednesday! This gal has such a lovely trot and is really starting to use her body. Though she prefers to plunk around on the trails she enjoys arena work as well! Miss Wednesday is adoptable through Heart of Phoenix Equine Rescue, INC!
The Halloween party last weekend was a success!! I started this 3 years ago in memory of my Grandma that was born on Halloween. This year did not disappoint and these horse crazy girls made it one to remember <3
Day 1 of "work" for #hopteamlibra! She has the most lovely trot! I introduced her to the arena sights and worked on some showmanship skills and ground manners as she can be a little pushy. Tomorrow we will build on that and continue figuring each other out! <3
Polaris has been a pleasure to work with so far! Its so nice to work with horses who's owner put a good foundation down. It makes my job starting them under saddle much easier!
Polaris AKA Polly Pocket is getting the hang of this whole riding thing!
Cookie returned home yesterday evening after her refresher course here on the farm. She ended her training days with a nice bath on a hot day! We will miss this big beautiful girl!
Joker and I finally entered a walk, trot, canter virtual show class. He really likes to drop his inside shoulder on both trot and canter so we have been working hard on lifting his shoulders up and carrying himself. This guy requires alot of slow/ patient work but it will pay off for him in the end. When he gets rushed(like many horses) he doesnt flourish and actually "learn" what is being asked.
Smokey is a total love bug and an absolute blast to ride! I could trot this dude all day! I entered him in a couple virtual horse show classes for fun and will start taking him out on the trails this week!
Smokey is a morgan gelding who arrived a few days ago for some pony boot camp! He is proving to be a smart boy after just one session with him. He seemed to learn some basics very quickly. Lots of desensitizing and miles will be put on this guy over the next few weeks to make him an overall safe trail mount for his human!
Miss Dream is coming along nicely within just a couple days! Though I havent found the bucking bronco in her, I have figured out what she does NOT like and what tools to give her mom to safely ride her. I will continue working towards making her a more solid mount and introducing her to the trails in the next couple days!
