This month, 10 years ago 😳 I began my journey as a dog groomer. I had been working in vet care, and doggy daycare, patiently waiting for a grooming apprenticeship opening. I could never work corporate petcare again, but I remain grateful for my time at Petco, for all my incredible mentors, and my best friend Vader 🙏🐾

Miss Daisy Mae 🌼 She visits me religiously every 6 weeks, for the last 3 years! She’s a little shy but the sweetest girl. We do a little bit of a modified Bedlington cut for practicality, but it still takes me 3 hours! One of my favorite parts of this job, is the variety of breeds I get to meet!

Existing dogs are considered “grandfathered-in” with only a slight increase, but please understand that new dogs added to your family will start at the new prices.

Doodles are very popular right now, but because they are so time consuming for me, please note that their new price starts at $90 before taxes 🙏

As you may have noticed I don’t have an address or phone number posted here on my page, and that’s because I am very small business and would like to keep it that way. You can easily get the information when you need it 😃 I focus on putting out my best quality work, not taking as many dogs as possible. Groomers are in high demand right now, and personal referrals get my name out there & to the right kind of people! I don’t want the stress of swarms of people.

I tend to be one of the slower groomers in my salon, and that’s just because I take a lot of pride in my work and try to maintain a relatively stress-free environment for your dog & myself! After the holidays I am looking to accept about 10 new clients, so here’s just a little about who might be a good fit:

I like to work with clients that keep on a regular schedule and rebook, I usually suggest anywhere from 6-10 weeks. I can take cash, check or card; cards have an additional 2.7% processing fee added. I usually work Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00 with a little flexibility. I only work on one dog at a time, to keep a relaxed atmosphere 🧘🏻‍♀️ Bath dogs take anywhere from 1-1.5 hours, small haircuts 1.5-2 hours, and large haircuts about 3 hours. Pups are expected to be picked up close to their completion time unless previously discussed. I have about 10 years experience and can accommodate most styles & breed specific cuts. I do not handstrip unfortunately. Every groom comes with a bath, brush out, nail trim & ear cleaning. My regular shampoo should keep your pooch smelling fresh for atleast 2 weeks, and I also offer hypoallergenic shampoo for really sensitive skin, oatmeal & conditioner for itchy dogs, and shedless for the hairy ones. I think that’s all the important stuff! If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Ear care is underrated and another great reason to get on a regular grooming schedule! I have a lab at home, so I may be a little bias, but ears are something that should be checked regularly, especially those big floppy ones! If a dog pulls away and doesn’t let you touch their ears/head, or if you notice your fury friend shaking their head or scratching a lot, it might be a good time to take a peak inside! Ears can become infected from excess moisture in the ear canal, and occasionally from other irritants, like allergies or mites. Once an ear becomes infected, it will require medication, continuous cleaning without medication will only cause extra discomfort.

I check every dogs ears when they visit, so if you are on a 6-8 week rotation with me, don’t stress it, we are checking often enough! If there comes a time you need to clean the ears at home, you can use a cotton ball, gauze, or qtip. A dogs ear canal thins and takes a 90 degree turn, making it difficult to “go to deep,” basically if your finger still fits, you’re good! If that still scares you, try an ear flush. Sq**rt a little cleaner in there ears, massage at the base of the ear (you’ll be able to hear it swishing around) and then simply absorb the excess liquid with a cotton ball or cloth. Any vet referred or store bought ear cleaners should be sufficient. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask!

My coworker got a new deshedding conditioner she let me sample and let me tell you, it works like a dream! 🙌 Wish I could have got a better video of my newbie Cal here, but he can attest to its efficiency. I will be ordering some in my next shipment!

Let me take this moment to introduce myself & share my journey. ✂️🐾💈

I spent my early years waitressing and earned an associate degree in Digital Media Technology. I focused primarily on photography which I still dabble in today. At 23 I got my first dog Vader (which my logo is inspired by) and decided I wanted to work professionally with canines. In 2012 I took a job at an animal hospital where I was a glorified janitor. I cleaned litter boxes, dog kennels, toilets and had to put the pets from “Room 6” into the freezer. I only lasted 6 months. While searching for someone to train me in pet grooming, I worked in a doggy daycare, where I really began to understand dog behavior and body language. In 2014 I finally got hired as a bather at Petco and was accepted into their grooming apprenticeship program. A year after my training I spent some time grooming at the well known family owned facility, Golrusk. Towards the end of my time there I became a sponsored ambassador for Andis grooming products, which I had a blast doing for about 3 years. As my ambitions grew, I found myself back to Petco as the manager of the grooming salon. Aside from meeting a lot of you there (my wonderful & loyal OG’s), I hated it.

At the end of 2017 I knew it was time to branch out and invest in myself. I started renting a room at “For the Dogs” here in Howard/Green Bay, WI. Margo owns the salon and rents individual rooms to myself & a few other incredible stylists, giving us the opportunity to run our own businesses without the responsibility of owning a storefront. We are lucky to have her & be apart of her vision. Maybe one day I’ll branch out to my very own salon, but for now this is home ❤️

In the past I spent a lot of time volunteering in multiple dog rescues, being one of the founding members of the successful Misfit Mutts Dog Rescue. I completely resigned in 2020, which I know has been hard for some to understand. My life was just evolving. I still consider myself an advocate, my efforts have just changed.

In the summer of 2022 I married the love of my life Hayden, in Vegas on an unforgettable 5,922 mile road trip with our dogs! Present day we have 2 amazing pups, Gibson & Odette, who will definitely be featured on my page the years to come. Two years ago we converted our van into a mini camper and we love to travel the United States. Aside from my family & my work, I love bird watching, history, philosophy, rocks, music, gardening, and sunrises!
