Mel's Grooming is officially TWO ๐๐ญ
I can't even begin to put into words how absolutely freaking grateful I am for all of my amazing clients (new & OG) who continue letting me do what I love. The last two years have been such a crazy rollercoaster & I never would've imagined I'd be where I am today.
Thank you thank you thank you for all of the continued love & support. This little business is practically my baby & to know that so many people love it just as much as I do, makes my heart so happy ๐ค
Enjoy some of the cute moments I've captured over the last few months & warning: there's like a LOT of baby talk ๐
Why choose one on one grooming? This is why! A unique experience for each dog to help meet their individual needs (plus lots of love & treats!). Trigger usually doesn't like his feet touched & needs to be muzzled. But with the help of some peanut butter, positive reinforcement & cuddles, the muzzle isn't needed ๐ค
ps also want to say there is NOTHING wrong with a dog needing a muzzle. My personal dog is muzzled at all times for safety reasons. I would just prefer to make it a positive experience, muzzle free if I can!
I've struggled all day to come up with the words for this & I'm still kinda at a loss so bear with me.
I got the insanely saddening news this morning that one of my sweet groom babies, Sassy, passed away. I met miss Sassafras just under 2 years ago & have groomed her numerous times. I even gained a wonderful, close connection with her family during these 2 years. Sassy has always been the sweetest, most tolerant baby, even in her old age. I started doing house calls to groom her when I moved to Vilonia so traveling wasn't a huge stressor for her. The amount of times I've had to search the house high & low to find which bed she was hiding from me in, is actually bonkers ๐
This video was taken the last time I groomed her, just over a month ago. Please take a second to send all of your good vibes, love, thoughts & prayers over to Sassy's family during this incredibly difficult time. & I hope you've got the comfiest bed for the rest of time, Sass ๐ค

Harley girl here to show you a few easy things you can teach your dog that will make your groomer's life SO much easier!
1. To turn in the bathtub on command. This helps so I don't have to manhandle a dog to shampoo/rinse their other side.
2. To shake off on command & on command only. This prevents me from getting soaking wet from a dog constantly shaking off during the bathing process.
3. To wait before jumping out of the bathtub. Loads of dogs bulldoze through as soon as the door opens & this is just a little trick more so for manners sake.
4. To jump on/off the table & in/out of the tub. This is so useful for large dogs & saves my back SOOOO much
At the end of the day, I signed up to lift dogs & be covered in dog hair & water all day but these little things go a long way! ๐ค
When people ask why my phone is always out of storage, this. This is why ๐ฅน
Don't mind Rex, he's still getting a hang of the whole "greeting" thing
Ignore the horrible baby talk but Josie is really out here being the cutest little yorkie in the 72173 ๐ซถ๐ผ
Enjoy this little piece of some of the things that goes on at Mel's Grooming ๐คฃ & just an update, they did fit in the tub but *barely*
