A note to all of my wonderful clients,

It’s with a heavy heart that I share some difficult news — Mel’s Grooming will be closing its doors effective immediately.

This decision was unexpected & not made lightly. Due to unforeseen circumstances with my current location, we are unable to continue operations at this time. While I can’t share all the details just yet, please know that this is not goodbye forever — just a pause as I regroup & plan the next steps. As of now, the plan will be to settle into a new place but it also might be the time i step away from grooming all together. Only time will tell.

To each of you who trusted me to care for your dogs, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support, kindness, & loyalty have meant the world to me & made this work feel more like family than business.

If you have any questions about past or future appointments, outstanding matters, or need grooming referrals in the meantime, feel free to message me directly. To the few clients who are still on packages, please touch base with me & i will figure out the best way to get those squared away, whether that be house calls or whatever else.

Stay connected — I’ll keep you posted on what’s next. You guys & your dogs have my heart, and I’m so grateful for you all.

Hi, a little late night post because I’ve not been sleeping much the last week. But I wanted to take a second to update everyone & thank everyone who’s checked in on me in the last week that I’ve been out. I’m sorry I’ve not been the most responsive to messages. But I go for my ortho appointment tomorrow & hopefully they’ll have good news for me. Right now, it’s still incredibly painful to even get up & walk or stand for short periods so I’ve been trying to rest as much as possible.

I also wanted to say that I do understand it’s frustrating that all appointments had to be rescheduled this week. It’s not only frustrating for you guys, but also for me. With being self employed, that left me an entire week without any income as well as now having to try to fit dogs in where I can when I come back. Unfortunately several clients have gotten upset because their dog desperately needs in & have even threatened to go elsewhere if I can’t get them in when they need. I understand grooming is important but I can barely make it around my house doing normal household things let alone standing, lifting & moving dogs of all sizes for 8 hours a day. So if anyone feels the need to take their dogs elsewhere until I’m back at work, I understand. Either way, I just ask everyone to be patient with me especially until I know an exact game plan. Thank you!

Serious post for a second. From the looks of me just trying to get up & walk around a little today, I’m probably going to be out of work the rest of the week. I’m gonna take it day by day for now but since my ortho appointment isn’t until Friday, it’s not looking so great. My foot is currently multiple shades of bruised & swelled up like a sausage 😭

With that being said, I’m pretty booked up the next several weeks so getting dogs that I’ve had to reschedule in is going to be tough. So if your dog is scheduled this week & you feel they can wait 2-3 weeks, pls let me know! & I’ll stay later next week (pending ortho results) to get the more urgent ones in. Please please please be patient with me over the next few weeks. Not only is this going to be tough with moving around dogs, but it’s also a huge financial hit in a time where I really can’t afford it. So all good vibes are much appreciated 🤍

Good morning from your local clumsy dog groomer 👋🏼
I took a spill down the stairs last night which resulted in a boot & crutches for the next little bit as well as a follow up with an orthopedic specialist.
So please be patient with me over the next couple weeks as grooming times may vary from normal & I may have to move appointments around for doctors appointments! Thank youuuuuu 🤍

As if my life wasnt crazy enough, I'm introducing a new side hustle: hand-painted event banners! 😅

Since this is new for me, I'm looking for 1-2 clients who have an event coming up in the next couple of weeks, that I can create a banner at a discounted rate for! This can be birthdays (dog or human), baby shower, bridal shower, gotcha day, etc.

I've included one banner I've already painted and a few others I've designed. These banners are approximately 4 feet by 3 feet. If you have an event approaching, please message me and let's discuss the details. 🤍

Days like today leave me heartbroken. Baxter is an OG Mel’s Grooming doggo. He’s been coming to me since back in the day when I had no clue what I was doing.

He moved away a few months ago so I haven’t seen him in a while but I unfortunately got the news that he passed this morning. Even though I haven’t seen him in a minute, it hits all the same.

Baxter was always a happy dog when he came into the shop. Always so well behaved (until he learned how to jump gates because he wanted to stay with his new baby sister 😅) & just full of love. He was also full boy & always came into with some new mystery grossness stuck to him from his adventures. This boy was so loved & his passing breaks my heart. Please send his family all of the love & good vibes while they navigate life without him 🤍

I first met Agera almost 11 months ago & I quickly fell in love with this girl. She lives in NWA but always comes for a spa day when she visits her grandparents! Even though she’s a senior, she is still full of love & energy.

She is one of the EASIEST dogs I do. Not only does she come in for desheds & nail trims frequently, she also jumps in & out of the bath by herself, on & off the table by herself, & just an all around angel of a dog.

This sweet girl is moving away so I won’t see her as often but her grandparents have promised to still bring her in when she comes to visit 🤍 safe travels sweet baby
