It’s hard to portray the size of this one antlered skull by itself, but boy was this old timer a stud. This 4.5 year old deer had some serious mass and height, but unfortunately had a past trauma injury or growth deficiency that kept him from his true potential. Either way, he was definitely a cool animal to work with!

Mike is an avid duck hunter and shot this pair of wood ducks on opening morning. These stunning, perching ducks are unlike any other species in the US, with no close relatives to them besides the Mandarin duck of Eastern Asia. The iridescent colors and “Mohawk-like” head on the drakes make them a fan favorite to look at!

Coming in hot! Beau came up north for a visit this fall and was able to lay the smack down on this pretty cackler. This was my first time attempting the “ghost” hanging method for a cupped wing position on the ceiling and makes for an interesting perspective.

I am really excited to share this piece, as it means a lot to me. Thanks to the help of my dog, Finley, this pair of ring-necked pheasants will be going to a good home this weekend! I was fortunate enough to meet a great guy over the summer and be asked to help out at an annual memorial youth event. This event is in memory of his brother who passed away, and loved everything outdoors. Wanting to get the youth involved, he set up a series of stations, including a live pheasant hunt, in order to get kids more involved in the outdoors. I jumped on this opportunity to give away a mount to get kids more excited, as I was lucky enough to win one on a Pheasants Forever youth hunt when I was younger. Here’s to the next generation and keeping hunting in the great outdoors alive!

This extraordinary pair of little diver ducks was harvested together last season on a local river system by a first time duck hunter. The hooded merganser truly is a sight to see with their extravagant, rounded crest they are able to raise and lower to attract monogamous mates. Being present for this hunt, I jumped all over the chance to work on the pair and am happy their beauty can now be displayed for others to appreciate as well.

This buck mink was trapped last winter in a frozen creek-bed after successfully finding out his daily pattern. This old male ended up breaking the chain to my conibear when caught and escaping the stake, luckily he was found nearby! Another animal with a story I just had to try and mount. If only he could tell me the story of the scrap he got into to get his torn ear!

Zach put down this wiley predator over the winter and I finally got to finishing it up. After self-tanning the hide and adding some colored felt to the flesh side, this gal is ready to go home and be displayed next to the whitened skull.

It was a huge honor to be able to work on the skull of this elusive predator. My good friend Jake trapped his very first bobcat up north and will now be a unique talking point up on the wall from guests near and far. I have a feeling he is still waiting on a proper thank you from all the animals on the farm though....

Another triple curl ready for its place up on the wall. These big, colorful mallards are a gorgeous species and will forever be a favorite duck of mine to work with.
