2 million birds culled and that’s less than 4 percent of their flock !!! ???

Consider keeping a few chickens or quail yourself. Or buy eggs locally.

Stand up FOR genetic diversity , heritage breeds, local economy AND reduced risk of mass disaster such as this.

No eggs have been recalled, and if they are handled and prepared properly, they should not pose a health risk.

MOM POWER! 5 am is momma time for our girls. They get 1800 calorie breakfast which is about 1/3 of what they will be offered today. When I think back at what I could eat nursing a baby…… I can’t imagine EIGHT!😳😂.

I will jump in to help with puppy mush this week. With the goal being to be wean them at 6 weeks of age so mom recovers quickly.

The 3 red/buffs are female hybrid brown egg layers.
The blacks are most likely female olive eggers ( lay green eggs). And the 3 chipmunk looking ones are straight run Welsummer crosses.

Our ENTIRE button quail hatch left town a few days ago and settled safely near by! TIP: put a warm potato in the corner of the box when transporting babies in winter.

Their new owner has them foraging on dried flowers. Edible flowers suitable for foraging include yarrow, echinacea, roses, marigolds, clover…. They offer a variety of benefits ….pleasant scent, some repel bugs, add vitamins, trace minerals, disease resistance. And of course entertainment !

Possible colors are traditional tri color, Merle, parti and apricot. “George-ette” standards should be 50-60 lbs in traditional tri, brown phantom, black tri Merle and brown tri Merle. ALSO If a LARGE bernedoodle suits your fancy, PM FMI on an associate F1 George x Ruby ( BMD /93lbs) breeding. It should be all gorgeous traditional tri colors, 75 lbs adult size. Delilah is staying over a few days and staying cool with Marley.

It’s about 5 am & raining. Time to “chute” the babies out the door. Considering 12 puppies / 9 hours / small space/ the mess is quite minimal. Noisy one is my boy Scooter. He’s 4 months old. For those of you taking a pup home soon I recommend a pellet litter tray in a crate or other small space at night.

Carol. 💓💗💕❣️. She could at least PRETEND she misses us in retirement ! 😂🤣. Being the water dog she is we were so happy her forever home is 20 acres on a river.
