After 6 years of being open, we have our first abandoned cat :(
This precious baby was dropped off at our resort on October 30th. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to contact her owner, she is now the legal property of Purr Life. We are going to foster her through Triad Independent Cat Rescue and she will be available for adoption immediately. We have changed her name to erase her past and give her a fresh start (don't worry, she really doesn't respond to her name). So please meet the beautiful Vivienne. 2 years old, female (spayed), black medium haired LOVEBUG! Vivienne is so friendly, playful, and energetic. She loves people and gets along well with other cats. We do not think she has had any experience with dogs, but given her nature we are pretty confident she would do well. Kitten season will be here again (well kind of never ended) before we know it. We have always fostered cats and kittens for Triad Independent Cat Rescue since we opened our doors in 2019. Going forward, we have decided to foster neonatal, or "bottle babies" only. Michele has many years of experience caring for these littles, so she has decided to keep it limited to them and dedicate her time to making sure they are properly taken care of during this critical stage of life. It is a very time consuming and difficult task as they need extra special care. We are taking donations for a highly recommended incubator (by the Kitten Lady herself!) to give them a better chance of survival. We are hoping to raise $1500 by the beginning of March when we expect kitten season to be in full force again. Thank you so much in advance! Today we had to say goodbye to one of our beloved house cats, Ella. She came to us a few years back as a temporary foster pulled from the Guilford County Animal Shelter. She was a senior kitty who we found out had hyperthyroidism among other health issues. We decided to keep her and give her the best life possible. Ella’s condition gradually worsened despite all attempts to keep it under control. The vets feel that she most likely had thyroid cancer. 🥺. Ella was a sweet and lovable little girl. But she was a pistol when it came to the other house cats. She didn’t put up with any of their shenanigans (cough cough Marcello!) and put them right in their place. She was definitely the Matriarch of Purr. Thank you West Market Veterinary Hospital for always taking the best care of her and treating her with kindness. Thank you Triad Independent Cat Rescue for allowing us to be a part of her life those last few years. She passed peacefully with me and her favorite puppy by her side. She was LOVED here.

Zayne was a good boy. Still has a lot of s***k for sure! When he gains more weight and his hair grows in full, he is gonna be gorgeous! Needs another grooming in 8 weeks or so. Couldn’t get as thorough of a job as I normally do because of his low weight/frailness. Looking forward to seeing him again!
