If you are someone who entertains often or has a large family, then you might need some extra storage space outside of your kitchen for extra plates, glasses, serving platters and kitchen appliances.

Before I arrived, this client installed these new shelves in her laundry area to hold excess kitchen items and entertaining supplies. I rearranged what had already been placed on the shelves and added extra dishes and glasses from their upstairs dining room. I separated everything into zones so that you can find items by category quickly and easily.

This laundry room went from storage pile to calm cleaning corner with just a few hours of work and some good decluttering. The cabinet is now full of all the cleaning products and dusters so that you have easy access to what you need but it's hidden behind closed doors.

Where do you store your Apple box collection? Don't lie, I know you have them.

"It's a good box!" Yes, I know it's a solid box, but that doesn't mean you need to keep it. There will be more good boxes in the future. Let these go and clear up some very valuable space in your home. You shouldn't be paying rent or a mortgage just to store cardboard boxes!!

It's amazing how much of a difference you can make by just making the bed, straightening the pillows and tidying up stuffed animals.

I would have done more with the stuffies, but they are getting a toy box to house them so asked me to leave them in the pile for now. I also adjusted the bookshelves so that all the books could be upright and easy to access. It's the little things that make a huge difference!

Please stop using expired medications. You deserve to treat your body well and that includes using current meds. Dispose of them properly at a local pharmacy or ask your town office/city hall where to dispose of them correctly.

Pro tip: Kelly's Pharmacy in Greenville, Coxsackie and Delmar all take your expired meds. Also many CVS locations participate as well as many Price Chopper and Market 32 locations. Properly disposing of them is easy!

Sometimes all you need to transform a space is a little bit of tidying up and putting things back where they belong.

All the clothes on this dresser went into the closet or were put away properly in the drawers. Then I removed a lot of the toys that had made their way into the bedroom from the playroom and took them back to their homes.

I kept a few stuffed animals and fidget toys that the girls enjoy so that their room would still feel like theirs, but just paired it back so that every surface wasn't covered.

Not every transformation has to be a complete overhaul and it also doesn't need to take hours to complete. Sometimes it's just as simple as making time to maintain a space and keep up with the reset process. It doesn't have to be a huge chore!

Let's also not forget about all those socks without a mate - let them go! If it's been months since you've seen the pair together, it's safe to say the relationship is over. You can let those spare socks free and move on with your life.

Be honest - how many socks are you hanging onto that you really need to just recycle?

If you're local to Greenville, NY then please bag them up and take them to the recycling bin in the Elementary School parking lot. The money helps the school and you avoid adding more textiles to landfills!

👗 I was very excited to get into this closet shared by two little girls in the Albany, NY area. The closet system was already amazing, but it needed to be tweaked to tidy things up and make sure all the clothes were the girls' current sizes.

👚 I sorted by clothes type, sleeve or pant length and color. When you have a large wardrobe, putting similar colored items together makes it much easier to find the item you're looking for and it makes the space look neat and put together.

🌈 Yes, I did sort their clothes in rainbow color order and yes I did have fun doing it! Also, what little girl doesn't like rainbows? I rest my case.
