Tomorrow is my 26th birthday! You know what that means - I’m asking for donations for my rescue What're the Odds Rescue! Any and all donations are appreciated, as I’m an independent rescuer and rely solely on my own funds and generous donations. As you know, funds raised go towards food, litter, medical expenses, shots, etc. In just 1 year, we have helped 3 blind babies, 1 half blind baby, 1 with autoimmune disease, and a plethora of healthy cats and kittens. We also did our first dog adoption this year, too! Thank you for helping me help them - I couldn’t imagine my life any different.

Goose, Finch, and their cousin Alby wanted to share an important message!

“Hello, we ate all the food 😹 We are growing babies after all! If you want to help us grow big and strong, please send us some food to nibble on. We eat wet, dry and sometimes a stray q-tip that hit the floor. We’re not picky at all! Thank you!”

If you’d like to feed the growing gremlins, all ways to do so are listed below! Thankfully all of our fosters are great eaters, but goodness do they love to eat 😂

We have news…

RAE HAS BEEN ADOPTED! 🥹

Rae (now Bee 🐝) has been adopted into her forever home. She now has a new brother and is absolutely in love with her new mom! While she is so missed, we are so happy for her and all of the progress she’s made. When we got the message about a tiny girl alone and sick, we knew we had to intervene. It took months of TLC, and then more months of waiting for her to grow so she could be spayed. From a tiny, frail sick kitten to a big girl full of love and sass, we cannot thank you enough for helping us help her. But now, all the hard work is done, and she has officially found her forever family and we could not be happier!

Enjoy the pictures of cutiepie’s story from beginning to her new home below!

Goose update 🪿

Goose’s appointment yesterday went well. We ran some bloodwork and everything came back normal, although his protein is a little low, which is expected since he hasn’t had much of an appetite. His blood sugar is stable, which means the karo syrup + nutrical we were doing worked, although he still wasn’t eating enough. We now have him on an appetite stimulant and are monitoring him. Goose was as sweet as ever at the vet, and continues to be his dorky, loving self at home. Please continue to send Goose all the good vibes and positive thoughts as we continue this regimen.

The total for Goose’s appointment was $168. As always, we are so grateful to anyone who supports us and helps us help our babies. We can never say thank you enough!

Goose needs our help!

Goosey boy hasn’t been feeling the greatest over the last week. Last weekend, he was slightly lethargic and not interested in food, so he saw the vet Monday. We ran a blood glucose test, which came back low, but was unsurprising since he hadn’t eaten much. Since his appointment Monday, Goose has been getting a sugar concoction of karo syrup & nutrical every few hours for added sugar and calories to stablize his blood sugar, which should have made him want to eat, but it hasn’t. So back to the vet we go! Goose will be getting bloodwork to see if there is something underlying going on which is causing his disinterest in eating. This appointment is estimated to be about $150-200 depending on the tests he needs. As always, we’ll do everything we can (and then some).

If you’d like to help us help Goose, please consider donating to our Paypal or Venmo listed below. Goose is so loved, and we just want him to be himself again.

We’ll have some cute artwork, homemade sweet treats, and other goodies to help raise funds for our current and future babies. Finch and Goose will also be helping supervise, and would love to meet you! 🐱

Take in a momma and babies they said..it’ll be fun they said!

Guess who has coccidia? Finch, Goose, and Momma Penguin - that’s who!

Finch had been vomiting periodically overnight and saw the vet this morning. He tested positive for coccidia, so it’s almost guaranteed Goose and Penguin have it too. They’ve all started medicine and should be all better in a week or two. Please send them well wishes to get all better!

The bill from today’s visit was unexpected (thank you Finchy!). If you’d like to donate towards today’s visit, or future ones (ha!) all ways to donate are listed below. The babies have no idea how much they add up, but their cuteness pays for it, right?! Ah, kittens.

Introducing…

Finch and Goose! 🐥

Finch (aka Finchy, Finny, and Fin) and Goose (aka Goosey and Goose-Goose) are babies to momma Penguin 🐧!

These boys are 4 weeks old now and are growing and thriving each day. Currently, they’re working on their walk, learning to groom themselves, and wrestling each other!

Momma Penguin is feral, and prefers little to no contact, which we’ve been respecting. She loves her babies and is such a sweet girl to them! Once the babies are weaned, momma will be fixed and vaccinated, and go back to her outdoor life with her wonderful caretakers. Until then, she’s eating as much as she wants, teaching her baby chicks how to be the best possible cats, and snoozing whenever she wants!

These cuties will start weaning soon, so we’re in need of some kitten food! If you’d like to help the baby chicks grow, please see all ways to donate below!

Happy St. Patrick’s day from miss Rae! 🍀

We also have some very exciting news! Drumroll please…..

Rae is ready for adoption! Miss Rae has hit all of her milestones and is finally really to find her forever family. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her full adoption profile will be ready on our Petfinder in a couple of days - keep your eyes peeled (get it? ‘cause Rae’s blind? haha).

Meet our newest momma and babies!

We were alerted to an outdoor girl who had given birth under a porch who needed a safe place to raise her babies. When we got there, the babies were even tinier than expected. These guys are only about a week old! Momma is doing great at loving and protecting them, but is a little iffy on human friends. That’s okay - she’s loved tenfold regardless.

If you’d like to help us get these guys off to a great start, please consider ordering them some food, or donating to their future vet care. We’re so grateful to have been able to help these guys out, and can’t wait to watch them grow!

Formal introductions and names coming soon!

WINNIE UPDATE! 🐱

Winnie saw the vet on Monday and did so well! She loves attention, so she was so excited to meet new people who just wanted to rub her head and scratch her chin. The plan is for Winnie to go back to the vet tomorrow for a few biopsies and a culture to figure out what is going on with her skin. They said that they had never seen anything like this before, but they are going to reach out to some colleagues and see what they think. Winnie will have to be sedated tomorrow for the procedure, so please send her all the good vibes and thoughts possible.

The estimate for tomorrow is around $560. If you are able and willing, please consider donating to Winnie's care. Once these results come back, we'll finally be able to start getting her whatever treatment she needs. Nothing is ever too small, and nothing goes unappreciated. All ways to donate are listed below.

URGENT! DONATIONS NEEDED!

This is Winnie, and she needs our help! Winnie came from a hoarding house in Gaffney, SC that had over 100 cats in the house. 100+ cats! She is covered in open, oozing, painful wounds. She is also rail thin. Although she isn't feeling the best, Winnie is as sweet as can be and is eating, playing, and cuddling like a champ. She'll be seeing the vet on Monday to address her wounds, which at the moment are believed to be from an autoimmune condition. Winnie deserves to be healthy and comfortable, and we are so happy that she’ll be on the road to recovery soon.

If you can, please consider donating towards Winnie’s care. $1, $5, $10 - nothing is too small as it all helps us help her.

02/17/2024

It is with the most broken of hearts that we share that our sweet Stoney girl unexpectedly passed away on Thursday. There aren't enough words to express the sadness and emptiness that is felt with Stoney's absence. Although she was only with us for part of her life, it is important to share just how much she was loved.

Stoney (also known as Stonewall, Stonehenge, Stoner and Stoney Bologna), came to us in April of 2023 after we were told there was a cat living on top of a roof of a business on a main road. When I went to see who this crazy cat was and why she was there, I met a bright eyed and bushy tailed Stoney who climbed down from her perch (aka the roof) and immediately wanted love. After finding out that she had lived there for some time, Stoney left with us, never to live on a rooftop again.

She was sweet, and sassy. Full of life. Stoney was called "the greeter" and "the leader of the welcoming committee" because everyone she met was a friend. She would follow new people around like a shadow, demanding to be the center of attention. She loved to be scratched and cuddled, and absolutely hated being picked up. She would growl and show her dramatic side - it was a side she showed off all the time. She was playful, and would use whatever she could as a springboard, including doors, dressers, and cat towers. Oh, how she loved her cat tower. She would sunbathe for hours before eventually deciding she wanted a different sunshine-y spot. Stoney loved the company of her fellow feline friends. She would play and groom them, but only when she thought it was appropriate. If they wanted more from her than she was willing to give, she'd swat and then run away, presumably in an attempt to get away, but it would always end up with a game of chase. She loved bird tv, mice toys, wands, Churu treats, and her daily wet food, but most of all, Stoney just loved to be loved. And loved she was.

Another year has passed, and with that comes our yearly wrap up! While we didn’t do as many adoptions in 2023 as we had in the previous years, we did do a few firsts! We had our first blind cat boy (Corny), our first half blind cat (Finian), and our first blind girl (Rae)!

We continued to TNR throughout the year, and partnered with other rescues in their TNR efforts as well. We met more people who are as passionate about animal welfare as we are, and taught others about the importance of spaying and neutering ALL pets. We did a lot this year!

We can’t wait to see what 2024 will be like, and all the new things we’ll learn and experience!

Cheers to 2024! 🎆

Welcome to the club, Bert (short haired tabby boy) and Ernie (long haired black/brown boy)! 🐱

We’re so excited to introduce these sweet love muffins. These boys are as sweet and playful as can be. They’re both curious, cuddly, and so stinking cute! Both of these cuties will be neutered in January, and available for adoption after. We can’t wait to see them grow and blossom even more than they have in the few weeks they’ve been with us!

Christmas Miracle 🎄

We are so excited to announce that Corny has found his purrfect home, and just in time for Christmas! Corny has always been such a sweet and loving boy, and now he gets to shower his forever family in that same love. His goofy personality is definitely going to be missed, but we cannot express how happy we are that he has found his forever people.

Corny could not have gotten to this point without all of the support and generosity given this year. As always, thank you for loving them as much as we do!

RAE NEEDS OUR HELP (again!)

At Rae’s last check up, we had noticed she sounded congested. We started her on an antibiotic just in case, and after the week course, she had no improvement. At her recheck, it was thought that she may have a polyp that was blocking part of her airway. We agreed to let her continue to grow and our vets would check for a polyp when we spayed her (which is scheduled for a few months from now) since she was still acting normal and not having any trouble being her usual playful self. Today, Rae’s breathing began to bother her more than usual, so to the vet we went! They were able to sedate her and confirm that (as of today) she doesn’t have a polyp, so we aren’t 100% sure what is causing the issue. Rae is now on an anti-inflammatory medicine, along with nasal decongestant to help her breathe easier. We aren’t sure what exactly the next steps are, but we’re working alongside our vet to keep Rae happy and comfortable.

If you’d like to donate towards her unexpected visit, all the ways are listed below. Rae’s bill was $170, so any and all donations make a difference. We’re so glad our vet was able to get Rae in and help her (again). Thank you for caring for Rae as much as we do!

Without your generosity, we couldn’t have helped Rae, Corny, Finian (and the list goes on and on..) become the healthy babies they always deserved to be. We know there are so many wonderful rescues and charities to donate to, but we do hope that you’ll consider us as well. We simply could not help these babies without you. RAE UPDATE 🤍

Miss Rae is almost 1 week post op, and is doing fantastic! She is back to her usual antics - playing all hours of the day, snuggling on necks for warmth, and squeaking for treats. She’ll go back to the vet in a couple weeks to have her sutures removed, but until then is recovering perfectly.

Rae’s surgery was $823. While we are so grateful to everyone who has donated, we still haven’t covered the cost of her bill. Unfortunately, due to someone calling the vet and berating them for removing Rae’s eyes instead of putting her to sleep (people are insane!), donations can no longer be made directly to the vet.

If you’d like to donate towards Rae’s bill, please know that we are eternally grateful. Every dollar makes a difference.

URGENT! DONATIONS NEEDED!

Rae was taken in a couple weeks ago after being found blind and abandoned by her mom outside. Unfortunately, her eyes have progressively gotten worse and both will need to be removed this Friday as they’re starting to make her sick. Our estimate is around $800. Because she’s only 1.8lbs, her surgery will be considered high risk. Please help us help Rae. She is such a loving and feisty girl. We want to be able to give her the pain free life she deserves.

If you’re able to donate to her surgery, every dollar helps. Nothing is ever too small. All ways to donate are listed below.

Can we do a $5 Friday for Finian?!

Finian was finally able to get his eye removed, a hernia repair, and get neutered yesterday! We’ve been waiting for this day since he came to us in August! He’s resting and recovering by taking naps in different squishy spots, and actively requesting pets until he falls asleep. Gosh, he’s such a sweet boy.

If you’d like to donate towards Finian’s procedures (totaling $135), all ways are listed below.
