Here’s a story about the sweetest lost dog I’ve ever met…Kendra…
I found her on the streets on Memorial Day, when it was 100 degrees. We asked neighbors if anyone recognized her. They didn’t, so we took her home to give her a safe place. She had on a really tight collar with no info, was filthy, losing hair, exhausted, and had fleas. She loved me and my husband instantly.
I tracked down the original owners when I learned she had a microchip. The story is they adopted her from the shelter and shortly after, rehomed her because they had too many animals. Who knows how long she was on the street.
I started looking for someone to adopt her and was lucky enough to be connected with Carmen, who runs a rescue. Carmen had an opening to take Kendra immediately, get her treated for heartworms, and give her a foster home.
I had Kendra for 17 days. I wish I could keep ‘em all 🥲 she is the sweetest girl, she was so grateful to be shown kindness.
Don’t give up on your animals or take on a commitment you can’t handle. Kendra’s story is just one of hundreds from strays dumped in Greenville every year.
Sincerely,
Kendra, Carmen, and Karlie
